Yes, Chrome OS is "cutting-edge": It doesn't run native apps and it requires an always on Internet connection. How could that not be "cutting-edge" these days? Unless "cutting-edge" has been redefined as "back in the dark ages"...
Didn't Steve Jobs make a big hullabaloo about how "intermediate layers between the platform and the developer ultimately produces sub-standard apps and hinders the progress of the platform"[1] when asked about the rule? So is that magically no longer true, or do they just no longer care? Or is it, perhaps, that their transparently self-serving reasoning for instituting the rule in the first place has started to cost them more than it gains?
All current iDevices now have an A4 CPU/GPU in them - as in they are now fast enough to run crappy code fast enough for people not to notice (too much). Of course, this will open the flood gates to Crapps and then people will bitch about how slow they are and how fast the battery drains. Damned if they do, damned if they don't Apple is.
Based on the addition of blocks and Grand Central Dispatch (GCD) to iOS 4 several months ago, I predict that the 2nd generation iPad (which will be announced early next year) will be the first iDevice with a dual-core ARM CPU. Then Apple will plop that CPU into iPhone 5 by summer next year and iPod touch by fall next year.
Should have bought a netbook. Writing this on my EeePC. I like a real keyboard.
I sold both my netbooks (8.9" and 10.1") this last week - I can't stand the tiny screens and the keyboards with the Truly Stupid(tm) key layouts any more. I went back to my 15" laptop with decent size keyboard and screen.
It's really only a matter of time before developers jump ship for Android
Developers can't make nowhere near the money off of developing for Android that they can for iOS. You will only see crap and shite on Android. All the quality stuff will be on iOS.
The market is one big fucking huge long term Ponzi scheme. The economy is based on the fallacy of infinite growth. Some day it will all crash and burn so fucking hard that the bible humpers will call it The Apocalypse.
iOS 4.1 beta 3 came out only a week after beta 2. Usually beta releases are two weeks apart. This indicates 4.1 should be out Real Soon Now. They also fixed the iPhone 4 proximity sensor issue in b3. It also looks like 4.1 works better on older iDevices (iPhone 3G, iPod touch 2nd gen) than 4.0 does (which was rushed out to meet the iPhone 4 shipping date not doubt).
I propose we give Mythbusters a truck-load of rare earth magnets, a container-load of copper wire, a trailer-load of liquid nitrogen and a skid-load of duct tape - they'll find what we're looking for no problem. Even if they do have to blow everything up at the end...

Without using Location Services (and asking permission) apps have no access to anything involving the Wi-Fi SSIDs surrounding you.
I guess you haven't seen some of the new APIs in iOS 4.1/4.2, have you?
We just say Tim Horton.
Contrary to misguided popular belief, what they sell is not coffee...

My initial reactions where 3Par-who? Arc-who? Never heard of them until now. Must have been under a rock somewhere for sometime...
predicting what kind of music our grandchildren will like
That's too easy. Something that you can't stand.
Windows 7 - the OS formerly known as Vista.
Who cares if it works as well and is cheaper?
Because it don't work worth a shite. Learn about technology and how it works before you spout such idiocy.

I sold both of my netbooks last month because I got tired of the asinine keyboard layouts, the silly little trackpads and tiny, squinty screens.
Back to a real notebook and the large iDevice that all /. gnerds love to group hate for me.
lasers...sharks
Another dumbtard geek/nerd meme that just refuses to die. Damn you Mike Myers!

Dumbtards'R'Us is along the way to Idiocracy.
Do not want. Any.
How self-centered and selfish of you.
No soup (tablet) for you!
I don't think the leaked Afghanistan war documents are a 'little egg'. It's clear proof that the war is lost and there is no hope for winning.
What's that saying, "Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it."? or in other words Another Empire Strikes Out In Afghanistan.

I'm surprised you haven't heard of flash player 10.1?
Its been out for over a month and works fine on my android phone...
You are lying. Period.
We have found the conspiracy...and it's a bunch of conservatives!
Republicantard, Diggtard, Diggidiot and Diggmoron all roll off the tongue so nicely...
If you believe in god, why would the existence of aliens prove that god doesn't exist?
If there is a "Creator", or a "God", they are nothing like portrayed by The Bible, The Qur'an or any other of humanities' religious texts.
You mean like bending over like a bunch of limp wristed queens when it came to China?
"The "market" is a fucking scam."

You need to upgrade to a lead foil hat from the usual tin foil noggin protector to stop the cosmic rays from discombobulating your brain cells.
