    On a desktop system you can just check for a keykatcher, they are visible if you look for them.

    Yes. Read the excellent book " The number sense" by Stanislas Dehaene

    He researched how the brain manages mathemathics. You can see 3-4 objects and register their number without counting. More requires a lot more activity of the brain.

    In the Netherlands, this is a well known way for drunks to get their alcohol:

    They report to a hospital with (deliberate) methanol poisoning. They have to be treated to ethanol right away, and (otherwise fortunately) in the Netherlands you will not be asked for insurance in an emergency situation, but just be treated.

    I suggested we'd counterscam a con artist in a street game. He told me:

    I would be very happy if you can give me some pointers into developping a "Postbank" banking client (the web-based version doesn't cut it, since it can not handle mass automated payments). We have not figured out how to do anything like this yet. We need the program

    Nobody is trying to make a computer interpret anything into text. This thing is designed to make something audible. If you want to compare, compare with the systems that read out your e-mail etc. Electronoic signal in, audible signal out

    Those disks were DS, only the drives weren't.

    So maybe my harddisk platters are DS too, but my HDD is SS! And I still have this holepuncher with the rest of my C64 kit! No problem there!

    Only thing that bothers me is that I'll be flipping my harddisk over all the time to read the other side...
