I agree with you on the zero tax for earners under $50k/year. And as to
any tax loss there, it would be made up through sales taxes, and further
stimulation of the economy. Whatever the cutoff, it *MUST* be indexed to
inflation, otherwise the darkside will continue to inflate and the consumers
will be back where there are now, barely able to afford gas to get to work.
There is no need for it. The existing FISA laws
are enough. It is only up to the government to
follow FISA and do the warrant procedures properly.
The PAA and the attempt to include retroactive immunity
is a sham to destroy the constitution. If passed, then
it would set a precedent that would allow any corporation
to get immunity for their actions. Pure fascism.
Examples would be pollution cleanup, consumer poisoning,
and investment fraud. The mess that would result would
actually destroy the corporations in the long run, along
with the population.
It's a losing game, but short-sighted greed can not see that.
If you peek closer at the numbers, you'll find that the
increase in revenue is nothing, because the sales in
the previous quarters were so bad that anything will
look like an improvement.
All of you dummies that think you're millionaires due
to your holdings in Microsoft stock should sell now while
you have a chance, otherwise you'll be the suckers at
the bottom of the pyramid scheme that is Microsoft.
Good luck. Even if you get better performance on the Microsoft platform
in the short term, you are still using a proprietary OS that you have
absolutely no control over, and will be at the mercy of the Microsoft
extortion machine in the future.
Look at how well the XP to Vista 'upgrade' went in terms of performance.
Well, sure, if you have to deal with Microsoft and people that worship Microsoft. If that is not the case, then maybe you don't get what you pay for because you don't have the budget to hire good people.
You don't want it to run Linux.

The current attack is not so much the ISPs, but the top Level ISPs and bandwidth providers.
They want to milk the current ipv4 infrastructure instead of building out the ipv6 infrastructure.
If we kept ipv4 infrastructure as is, and moved the high bandwidth traffic to ipv6 over fibre, the "need" to manage bandwidth (i.e, to control the packet traffic), would go away.
The telcos were given billion dollar incentives by the government to build out the fibre, but they did nothing with that money but put it into their pocket.
It's all a scam orchestrated by the darkside to attempt to control the Internet.
Yep. There's a lot of bandwidth in those catalogs.
Microsoft *is* strapped for cash. They have already said they
would borrow money to do the Yahoo deal.
Microsoft is *so* desperate that they want to get in bed
with the banks, so they can become 'too big to fail'.
The problem for Microsoft is, even if they were to go belly up
tomorrow, it's not the end of the world. In fact, it would be good.
Ballmer and Gates are so full of themselves that they really believe
they are indispensable to the world economy.
In fact, Microsoft is a *huge* drain on the economy.

You're right. So in order to compete with Ubuntu, Microsoft
should fire most of their staff in order to reduce their costs.

It just seems like 10 years when you get put on hold.
Even if it's not true, the real question is:
After ten years, has Microsoft fixed the bug yet?
Maybe, but Fred was into rock.
