    It's a small battle won.

    As to the scale of corruption in the U.S., yes things are definitely more controlled.
    The U.S. has a 'fair and balanced' news media and those kinds of problems are rarely reported.

    Yes you can install to harddrive. The problems arise later when you try to use apt. Knoppix is a mixed bag of Debian. Kanotix is all Debian Sid.

    I suspect that the images that won't properly load are those that have their own self-contained loader and expect the image to be in a specific position on the medium (typically floppy).

    With Mozilla 1.7.2 I get no popup with either link. My preferences are set to disable popups. So, why would Firefox be different here?

    Malarky. Having fewer voting centers would not guarantee fewer 'electronic glitches'. On the contrary, it could exacerbate the problems.

    If you haven't checked recently, you need to catch up on what's happening in Florida. Also interesting is that apparently Keith Olbermann is under extreme pressure to lie about Bev Harris of BlackBoxVoting.org, likely by TPTB. Probably to discredit Keith and Bev as he basically in the only one in the media that had any fortitude to actually perform a proper media role in questioning the elections voting integrity.

    Excellent news. This means that it is very unlikely that 'The Weather Channel' would attempt to control access to the data that forecastfox uses.

    Of course, there is no guarantee that it won't happen in the future.

    Exactly. Their spyware does not 'OWN' the packets. Once the packets are generated, I can do whatever I want with them. Obviously, this includes grabing the destination ip address, which then allows me to setup firewall rules to drop the packets. This is why you need a firewall that works both ways.
