Wow, I had that happen to me one time when I told someone I could fax or email them a form and they asked what email was, but that was back in 2001.. I still thought it was amazing but in 2006, you would have to have your head in the sand....
I constantly bring grief to my village council meetings when I decry the few dollars Comcast continues to pay the village for every bill they collect. Thats nothing, my local city gave a grant intended to help a small buisness with tech training to the local comcast to train their employees in installing their new digital services.......
I was refering to how their treat their competitors. But your right, they have gone from treating their competitors like shit to treating their non corperate customers the same way with the verify for updates and the new DRM and whatnow. Of course these actions will never been considered anticompetitive.. Hopefully Vista will be do DRM laden that noone will upgrade, but it looks as if it will be just enough nonDRM for everyone to upgrade, leaving them in a position to make their next version even worse. People don't notice when their rights are taken away in small chunks.
Do you trust Google less today than one year ago? No.
There is an automatic distruct of anything larger that us, so a lot of the problems with google retaining its trust is simply its size. This seems to be outwayed by public probing though, as the larger something gets the more the public will probe any irregularities. Just look at Microsoft, sure it does some bad stuff, but it did the really nasty stuff when it was small and noone was watching.. The public eye after the trial has really forced them to straighten up their act in many ways.
Which is the great spark of this game. Its a very directed game, and the ending presents you effectivly with an openended sim, where among other things it appears to allow you to create the contructs for your next game (where you start back as a cell but in a world totally precreated by you.. or someone else).
If you had read the article you would see this isn't a chording keyboard, infact the button placements are almost identical to that of qwerty except its wrapped around a control pad. The fingers you use to type qwerty are the same fingers you use to type with this.
As other poster said we are just now being able to interface with the mind. As well we are just now being able to make devices in the nanotech scale that will interface with our biology. So for those who think every mechanical device has been invented, just wait untill we start making them microscopic, some of them won't even remotly be rehashes of what we have now because the physics is so different at that scale. Thought it may take us a while to really wrap our minds around the smaller scale physics to truly appreciate whats possible.

Way too many uses of the word Linux, and the find/replaced screwed up once and left Mac in there.
Exactly, didn't you see the video with the girl playing classic mario brothers with the wand. At the time they just said it was staged hype, and it was, but its definatly possible. Not that I'd really want to play Mario Brothers like that.. ouch..
Yes, but sadly its difficult to find server quality highend parts. I'm refering to such things and redundant hot swap parts. If you've ever had your hands on decent power edge server, you wouldn't want to give it up.
Depends upon what you call winning. On a primarily how many cells do I have scale barteria have won.. Game over. The multicellular life was an evolutionary mistake sadly it believes its won...:)
Had this been the PTA group or some group sure, but the School Board is still an government entity and defiantly is allowed to make rules concerning appropriate content within its school. But it acting as a lobbying group and attempting to push local retailers to censor items is WAY beyond the terms in which a government entity should go.

So whats to stop one from recutting the nerve, cutting away the scars, and applying the jel then putting the peices back together again. Obviously it may or may not work, and is probably what these scientist are trying right now.
But your text indicates that you already have all of these components in place, so why are you looking for another solution? Is it just the cost?
Yes he does, many copiers do this today (by copier I mean the large classic xerox sytle not the small 4 in 1 thingies), you simply plug in a network cable setup the ftp information and press scan.
He obviously wants several of these stations, but doesn't see the need in purchasing $10K+ copiers, instead wants to know if any small 4 in 1 or flatbed scanner can do this job.
Hold on. I just reread your comment and realized your are saying that socialism WON'T work. Which is interesting as your breadslice posting sounds like your promoting socialism... Or is it someone elses posting and I've gotten the entire thing confused..??
If a socialist economy only "works" when all vesitiges of capitalism are eradicated, or it cuts off trade and workers are imprisoned there, what the fuck does that say about socialism? Id say it proves socialism doesn't work.. Because you simply can't cut off all vesitiges of capitalism. Socialisms primary failure is its ignorance of greed. People are lazy and greedy they will do the least work that gets them the most reward. Period. Even in a socialism island people will continue to do blackmarket work so as to not be taxed. These people will succeded while driving the honest poorer and poorer. The only way a socialism system could possibly work is it a futuristic tech utopia where nobody has to work, and you'd still have most of the population sitting around doing nothing.
What I'm trying to say is that is makes legal sense to ban all media equally. There would still be first amendment problems either way, but trying to ban one type of media over another is legally dim.
What really gets me is that they arn't trying to ban violent movies. Other than the obvious first amendment problems I would understand if a state attempted to ban all media that had a certain amount of violence or sex or whatever. But aiming directly at video games shows you just don't get it. (Note: I would understand doesn't mean I would support)
Don't take it as an insult, mearly an observation. I'm definatly a tickerer too, and am in awe of people who can designed total turnkey solutions with good UI... But thats another story.

I just figured he was miscounting in binary and thats the joke. Assuming he counts in unary is like assuming Douglas Adams makes jokes in base 13.

Are you saying that so your wife or SO won't want to play?? :)
Seriously though Spore is just a temporary working name, though it may stick.

Another form of entertainment that isn't ours anymore.
HEHE EA took that away a long time ago.. MMORGS yours?? HA..

If it has something to do with an exposed serial port being interupted, I don't wanta know.
What I was trying to say is its near impossible to build a poweredge etc quality server from retail parts.
Yes, but sadly its difficult to find server quality highend parts. I'm refering to such things and redundant hot swap parts. If you've ever had your hands on decent power edge server, you wouldn't want to give it up.
