    TV commercials are intensely exciting. I used to drink Coke, but after seeing a Pepsi commercial, I switched to Pepsi, but then I saw this really cool 7up commercial so now I drink that... no wait... it's Mountain Dew yeah that's it.

    Second: Just because I put works on my website does not mean I authorize anyone else to put a copy of the works on their website (or search engine). I may want people to HAVE to come to my website to get my content.



    Do you take issue with Google's practice of caching pages as well?

    Sure it's lame, but Linux is statistically safer because there is statistically less people using it.

    If the positions were reversed and most people used Linux, I suspect that Windows would enjoy less viruses, less spyware, less malware.

    There's also another benefit... I've noticed that if I go a few weeks without breakfast, I gain weight. Then, I get back to the normal breakfast routine and the weight comes off.

    The problem is that you need a new frame of reference. Try working in the agriculture or construction field and it won't take long before you wax nostalgic about the good ole days at Blockbuster.

    I think there's one more group. Those that get a pirated copy of some software, decide that it's crap and then delete it. I imagine the industry considers this to be a loss in profit as well.

    WRT to Marriott's place in the pr0n industry, I think you're confusing them with the company that provides the service to them.

    It's been a couple of years since I stayed at one, but IIRC LodgeNet provides their video services. It's an interesting deal. Lodgenet installs and owns all the equipment while the hotel gets a small percentage of the take. I'd have to do some digging, but at one time LodgeNet (or possibly one of their competitors) was the largest seller of pornography in the country.

    No argument... I do indeed appreciate the value and ideal behind open source software, but I think I'll wait for GIMP to mature a bit more before I devote more time to it. Call me selfish.
