You can alos change your paln on the fly. When I had 2 roommates we went up to 4 DVDs and with the 2 day turn around time we could watch about 25 movies a month. Now that I live alone I moved down to the 2 movie plan.

I have been very happy with netflix.com. They fit the way I watch movies, for other they may not like it. Some people decide they want to watch xyz movie and they want it now. Give it a try is all I got to say, you got nothing to lose. No long term contract, no start up fees.

Microsoft is talking about wintel computers. For example if I donate a Dell to a school, 99.9% of the time I bought it with Windows preinstalled, and this lets them know that it should come with an OS.

So the 00.1% that came preinstalled with another OS, they are not concerned about this because it is such a low number. Also why would anyone donate a home-built machine since you can always swap out parts and keep it alive forever.

Don't you guys get it, EVERYONE uses Windows. Get over it. Microsoft sucks, I totally agree and I always fight my spyware XP with a firewall, but moving to Linux as my Desktop OS will never happen. Trust me, I have tried many times, but it is not worth the pain and suffering. MacOS X is the only usable unix based desktop solution, and I hate Apple too.

I think they should use Windows in schools since that is what 99.9% of the kids will use at home and a a job later in life. Plus there is a lot of educational software avaialbe. Iam glad they are gettign away from Kacs in School, since they most likely will never use them later in life.

X-box is just a glorified PC as we all know, except you cant upgrade the hardware. And since Microsoft already takes a loss on the hardware, how are they going to make money if it does not sell well.

Oh, Interland. They are my current hosting provider. I started with Vservers who was bought by Micron and combined with Hostpro to become Hostpro.

Vservers was great, good support, keep up to date on PHP and Perl and such. Hostpro was pretty good too, I think they kept most of the staff.

Hostpro was sold to Interland and they just suck. I think they simply took over the servers and customers and ditched the staff.

My main beef is that I am on PHP version 4.01 and they have not upgraded since that version was orgianlly installed. 4.03 added some functinality that I need for some programs I run. I curse them, but they are the only ones that I can find that host multiple domains and offer IMAP mail service and Shell access.

Anyways that was my vent for the day.

My company mainly has Windows NT/2000 servers with a few AIX and Linux servers mixed in. My department is called Enterprise Systems so all our servers start with "es" then we add what it does "internetweb" ,"internetftp", "db2". Then finally with a number "01", "02" and so on.

A final name of one of our servers is "esdb201.domain.com" or "esinternetftp04.domain.com"

When I was really busy I switch to the 2 movie plan, then a few months later when I had more free time I went to the 4 movie plan. I agree the turn around time is the worst factor, I am ust lucky to live so close.
