    It has been known for quite some time that the Pentium-M processors would outperform desktop chips even when clocked at a higher frequency.
    Seems that Intel finally wised up and is exploiting the technology in the Pentium-M Chips to lower its development costs even though that isnt explicitly stated in the article.

    Not true.
    I own a Sony Clie and iSync(forgive the pun) just fine with the palm desktop and iSync without the 3rd party app. The app in question allows you to access the memory stick as a separate usb mass storage device and some other advanced features which i never use anyway.
    I agree that some of the special functionality and software that makes a Clie so special is lost on a mac though.

    Seems like the departure of Pixar as well as the general downturn of disney's (general) forutnes lately make it a prime candidate to be picked apart for its more vaualble(read: ESPN) assets.
    I wonder if Microsoft's large stake in Comcast has anything to do with it, especially in the light of recent annoucements to partner MS and Disney to sell movies?

    Many of your concerns relating to multiple desktops as hacks and a more alterable UI will be changed (as i am told) in Mac OSX.3 Jaguar.
    I plan to play with it for a while at the local apple store to see if it is worth the upgrade.

    Not Quite.
    The code in question was in the kernel due to an error way back then. However, we could have used the code anyway since Caldera - Now SCO, released it under a public licence. Go figure.
    Mr McBride should really check his facts before making such open and accusatory statements. Also he took Bruce Perens completely out of context on that quote.

    Mercedes Benz includes an Aux-In in all models with a Navigation system, like my C320. But then again, this is Slashdot so i guess thats a moot point.

    I dont think its a right but number portability is that much more important to people than an IP address. With IPs you can alter your your DNS and map your hostname to whatever new IP you have. I don't recall an alias directory for names and cell phone numbers anywhere - do you?

    The Culprit: Quantum Fuzz.
    Werner Heisenberg's uincertainty principle (1927)effectively eliminates the possibility of getting some sort of accurate measurment of a number as a result of physical influence, since you are in effect tampering with the measurment medium.

    Hmmm... my brain is tickled, now i wont be able to work the rest of the day - time for some thought experiments!
