  5. Lucent VitalQIP on IP Addressing Space Management Applications? · · Score: 3, Informative

Proprietary, but Lucent's VitalQIP provides several nice functions like automated subnetting, DCHP and DNS integration, along with the ability to scale.

  6. How Appropriate on Google Moving PRC Records Out of China · · Score: 1

Nothing for you to see here. Move along.

  7. Re:Is this a problem? on Age Discrimination, Indian-Style · · Score: 1

Not necessarily. The burden of the tax incidence may be placed on the producer, depending on the flexibility of the cost of the product.

  8. Ha! on California County Sues State Over E-Vote Ban · · Score: 4, Insightful
"This is another flip-flop by state officials, based on shifting political winds, rather than considering what is best for the people of California," County Supervisor John Tavaglione said. "They're punishing us for using a system that has worked effectively and without error." Emphasis mine
Well how would you know if there was an error if there is no physical evidence. Looks like someone forgot to check their facts.
  9. New? on Folded Newtonian Telescope · · Score: 0

  12. Re:Gran Turismo 3 on Racing Games Too Fast, Furious For U.S.? · · Score: 1

The way I do it. Buy the hardest tires you can. Other than that you may have to modify your style; braking a bit more, and trying to slide less. Getting gold on your licences is good practice in style.

  13. Re:ADHD on Will Caffeine Cause Health Problems? · · Score: 1

I might be inclined to agree with you, if there was some hard evidence ADHD actually existed. The corelation between ADHA and IQ seems bogus. I know several people whom I would consider intelligent and whom are diagnosed ADHD. They exhibit absolutely no psychiatric abnormalities. Occasionally, in certain situations, they may get bored or restless, but so does everybody. As it is, it seems to just be a money making scheme by the pharalogical industry.

  14. More Information on Lunar Eclipse On May 15-16 · · Score: 4, Informative

  16. The Boondock Saints on What's Your Favorite Underappreciated Movie? · · Score: 2, Interesting

Great movie. I have yet to find more than a few people who have seen it, and appreciate it.

While we're at it, I have yet to find someone who truely appreciates Fight Club on the same level I did.

  17. Read up on the subject... on Telescopes for Home Use? · · Score: 3, Informative

  18. Bruce Schneier's AC on NSA Cryptography References? · · Score: 2, Informative

Find and join some clubs you are interested in. If you read slashdot you would probably feel at home at an ACM or MAA meeting. Also, feel free to join a non-academic club. I'am member of a role-playing club. I never play, just network.

This is your best opportunity to meet strange, funny, smart, unconventional and other people who you will bennifit from.
