I totally agree. It was the first thing that I noticed. If I were hired to write that text, then I would have used CSS in a separate file. However, for the sake of readability, I'm going to use inline styles.
You are absolutely right. A set of wrenches will have different sizes. Some will be used more than others, but that doesn't mean that only certain sizes are better.
As for the book, thanks for recommending it. I love reading about those types of subjects. I think that we westerners, as a whole, don't think about group behaviour enough.
On a slightly unrelated note, I think that it was cool that I could highlight the title, right-click on it, and be able to reserve a copy of the book at the local library. I used a customized search in Opera. I made the customized search because/.ers do make good recommendations.
Time is the one resource that is impossible to make up, regardless of how much money he could have earned if he were free there are somethings that are priceless. If I were in jail during any of the above listed times for something I was truly innocent for I would want so much monetary compensation that it really hurt those who wrongfully accused me.
That sounds fair enough. I'm curious, though. How much would you have sued for in his situation?
Don't forget the pressures of the faculty and the admin. The schools are like prisons in many ways. Obviously, there is more freedom, but there are similarities.
Sure we can outlaw guns, but other means will be used.
Why would you say that? Do you mean that killing will be done through other means, or that people will obtain guns through other means?
I agree with you about the more fundemental problem. I'm sure that these types of killings happen in other countries quite a lot, but I almost get the impression that it happens way more in the US. Maybe it's blown out of proportion. Maybe the school system forces people to get along when they have no incentives to get along. Maybe the campaign for tolerance isn't working.
As I was reading the discussion, it suddenly dawned on me that Sony is probably just bitter because Beta didn't become popular, or as Sony likes to put it, "If we can't have the largest market share, then nobody can.", and/or "That'll teach you Aunt Tilley!!!".
I agree. I wish that they would finish CSS 2.*. They haven't even managed to get it to render correctly for print layout, and they are already trying something else? In fact, they haven't even finished HTML 4.01. The tables don't render correctly, when colspan=0 or rowspan=0.
But your favorite phrases would still be "I'm not dead yet!" and "I don't want to go on the cart!"
I can't believe how much history repeats itself. I keep saying, "I'm not an Kyoto Protocol advocate, yet! I don't want to go on the bus!", but they shove me in anyways. Have you ever seen the documentaries of those Japanese guys shoving us on the subways and buses?
You are exactly right. It would take so much effort to clear out the house. Everybody should just think of all the hassle on moving day. It would be the same thing, every day, for a demo company.
When I worked in the construction industry, I heard about a paving company that was sent to do a driveway. They pull up to a house and start working. The owner of the house comes out and watches, and doesn't say anything.
At the end of the day, the neighbour on the other side of the street comes out and says, "When are you going to do my house?".
"You have to book an appointment, first.".
"Oh, no, no. I already did. You're supposed to do my house today.".
It turns out that they paved the wrong driveway. It was a simple mistake that cost them a lot of money.
A woman's skirt covers her private parts. A woman throwing trash on the ground isn't private because she typically doesn't throw trash on her own property. It's that simple: private parts; public property.
It's the thing/action being filmed that's relevant, not the filming.
Even Via Rail's economy class is more comfortable than a plane. I took a train trip from Vancouver to Halifax and back. I enjoyed it thoroughly. On the way back, I took the trains all the way home without stopping, except for transfers during the day. So, I spent 5 continuous nights on a train. It was awesome.
I think that a lot of the problems that we encounter are simply because we don't have a public railroad, whereas the skys and roads are probably relatively free.
That doesn't work too well with transit schedules. Too many changes are hard. If you can't remember to set your clocks, then how could you remember the new summer schedules, and the new summer business schedules?
That's a good idea. Maybe the farmers could go on daylight savings each year, but not come off it. That should give them lots of daylight after a few years.
I agree. The last thing that I need is to have an intern at the bank get curious about what it looks like, take a peep inside the jar, and then let the light escape.
What kind of jars do you use? I use jars with mirrors facing inwards. It keeps the light bouncing around forever.
I agree with you. The way that I look at it, the whole issue can be boiled down to the tadgedy of the commons. Nobody has to clean up the air. Nobody has to replace the fuel.
Let's just keep burning that rain forest, so that we can plant crops to fuel the trucks that carry the oil from the wells.
Doesn't anybody realize that putting a cost on the fuel isn't the answer? It's a limit that makes people conserve. That's why the fences made a huge difference in the tradgedy of the commons. It costs money and time graze cattle in the commons, just as it costs money and time to go for a Sunday drive. If that is the last drop of fuel for me, but not you, then do you think that I'll be going for a Sunday drive?
And governments are doing nothing to help. Instead of helping, they mandate that buildings have a minimum amount of parking.
Probably not. I'm kind of pessimistic in that I think that the present group of scientists has too much influence on things.

- Why not bomb shopping malls?
- Why not just shoot random people at an intersection?
- Why not bomb/shoot people in a church?
- Why not bomb/shoot people in office buildings? Hmm, maybe they need to reexamine the Oklahoma bombing, and 9/11.
- Why not bomb/prison?
- Why not restaurants?
- Why not stadiums?
- Why don't we hear about banks?
There's an obvious pattern here that people don't seem to be seeing.Don't forget the pressures of the faculty and the admin. The schools are like prisons in many ways. Obviously, there is more freedom, but there are similarities.

The more that we sun bathe the more our skin will receive sunspots.
So how did they solve that problem?
Thanks for sharing. Your story has a wealth of information. I'm constantly amazed by how unpredictable people are.

I agree. That's the impression that I got. Not speaking English in an English speaking community would make it harder for somebody to raise concerns.
Are you saying that you like the trees because they block the view of Tacoma when you are on the outside? That's why I like those trees.

There's no slippery slope.
What makes you think that it is okay for police to witness the drunken brawls, if a camera can't witness it?
If you dropped trash, then you deserve to be arrested. You are wasting other people time and resources for something that was your responsibility.

Yeah, but they didn't have as much light back then.
