    Why spend $550 for this thing when you can just get a Sharp SL-5600? The specs are pretty much the same except the zaurus doesn't have a 40 gig hard drive, but it has an actual keyboard.

    Anone remember the thinknic? it was cheap, low power, ran linux..

    It was a few years ago, and it booted off the CD-ROM, and had like 4m of flash for bookmarks/emails etc. pretty basic machine, but essentially the same idea of these things. The ThinkNICs didn't last very long before the company went out of biz, why would this one do any better?

    there was the cybiko, not as robust as the DS, but it had wireless built in quite some time ago.

    Ram isn't the only solution. a box with 98 lite with a gig of ram will still run faster than a box with straight 98 with a gig of ram.

    I use Windows 98se paired with 98lite on older machines that I still want to keep running and get decent performance out of. With manual tweaking, I've been able to get a working 98se system in under 12meg.

    I'm interested to try these together, and see if 98se can be made reliable with the patches, AND un-bloated with 98lite.

    This is cool, 98SE is still my favorite windows for lower end machines.

    The article doesn't really specify, but it looks like this guy just too all the microsoft fixes and repackaged them. So most (if not all) of the stuff in it is 'official'

    cars are supposed to be percieved as an extension... a status symbol, cool, fast cars are great for picking up chicks. I doubt I'd be able to pick up many chicks in this erkel car, expecially with a LiMP battery, even that name is uncool.

    You can, the Visa part at least. For a surcharge of about $10, you can get a rechargable prepaid credit card. Add cash to it anytime you like, or just toss it and get another if you want different #s. I've seen them at rite-aid, I'm sure there are available everywhere.

    In NY, I've been using a borrowed eZpass on a car that's not registered with them for a couple years now, and I haven't heard from them.

    they are pretty weak anyways, The tag has to be visible on the windshield to work. I keep mine in the glovebox and only take it out when I want to use it. Gets that ugly box off my window, and I won't be tracked anywhere I don't want to be.

    They already have radar speed checks linked to the eZpass. I've reveived notice from eZpass talling me that they'd revoke my ezpass if I were clocked going through the tool booth too fast again.

    While this is still limited to ezpass, and I did not get a ticket, it would take nothing to calculate your average speed based on the time between toll booths, and just mail a ticket to the address registered with eZpass.

    Wouldn't suprise me in the least.

    I don't think the point of the lawsuits are to really punish the people being sued, but more to get the word out, and get some publicity. Average Joe computer users who used Kazaa and thought that it was legal are now hearing about these lawsuits and uninstalling Kazaa.

    I think the RIAA is accomplishing what it meant to, Publicity.

    I'm still just looking for some apps that'll make my Zaurus as usefull as my old palm pilot was as a PDA. Then it'd be perfect.
