I've never really agreed with his premise that movies are always "unfinished projects" you can go back and revise at will, though. IMO, you're supposed to give your best effort and consider it a one-shot opportunity. When the final product comes out in the theater, it's "finished", for better or for worse.
There really is no "should" in art. Some artist will always eventually ignore those "should"s and later be labeled a genius for it.
I don't think that person will be George Lucas, though.
"Pseudo capitalism", as used here, is apparently a concept based on the fanciful notion that China is somehow still socialist/communist. It assumes that "big government" is somehow opposed to "free market", and therefor assumes that the combination of the two is some kind of voodoo monstrosity or something.
Artcite's post is basically sound, but it suffers from that ideological prejudice.
"When the U.S. embargoed oil to Japan in July, 1941 it was almost a certainty that war would soon follow."
Only because of Japanese expansionist imperial policy and the invasion of Manchuria made it clear what Japanese goals were in the pacific. And their attack on Pearl Harbor later that year didnt help.
Yes, it certainty-ed war because of Japanese expansionist policy. That doesn't make it any less factual, however. One lesson nobody seems to be taught, for some reason, is that history can only be understood when you stop asking the question "who's morally responsible?".
Why wouldn't they? It was a unique Firaxis product. That's like saying MS doesn't have the rights to Windows. You're confusing it with Civ itself, which used to be a MicroProse IP.
Question : I really loved Alpha Centauri! Are you planning to make Alpha Centauri 2?
Answer: We’re all big fans of Alpha Centauri as well. However, the rights to that game are owned by Electronic Arts (we were making games for them at the time) so any decision to make a sequel is up to them..
I'm averse to the whole "it should be up to the parents" argument every time something like this comes up. If it were up to me, I'd pass a law saying that you get the right at 15 to play violent games even if your parents don't want you to.
Airport security is ridiculous. We all know that. That's not news. What's news is that he threw a temper tantrum and vowed to never grace the country with his magical, revolutionary presence again.
I'm glad to see that DNF is back. Part of me, however, kind of hopes the release date keeps on slipping. It just seems like things aren't really right in the world unless Duke Nukem Forever is still "in development".
I like the Bacon quote "If in other sciences we should arrive at certainty without doubt and truth without error, it behooves us to place the foundations of knowledge in mathematics."
You're excited about the new Civilization too, huh?
Next you're going to tell me that people were podcasting before the iPod.
The same goes for pretty much every picture of Nixon that I have ever seen.
They all had Trotsky in them?
Name two.
I just assumed that BRSloth was saying that the beast is the girl. "You like that, don't you, bitch? Good girl!"

Even Memento has a version where it tells the story chronological order.
Actually, that's pretty great. I always thought it would be interesting to see it that way.
I don't know why I bought three copies.
Amnesia?
I didn't say moral responsibility doesn't exist. I merely said that if you want to *understand history*, you have to put aside that question.

They had someone whose entire job was to write the A.I.. Apparently it's pretty difficult.

Is that a winking concerned face?
children's rights > parents' rights.

Now that's what I call a Grip of Death!
That's not a debunking, that's an official denial from Apple. Big shock.
Jobs was right to think that he could get on the plane with his stars because, usually, he would be able to.
Well, technically, he was *wrong* to think that, because it was incorrect.
Airport security is ridiculous. We all know that. That's not news. What's news is that he threw a temper tantrum and vowed to never grace the country with his magical, revolutionary presence again.
You forgot Yahoo! games. I don't know about you, but I play card games with friends there all the time.
No, they didn't invent the market.
They just figured out how to make a product that would sell into the market
...by sticking an Apple logo on it.
That's pretty much redundant. Narcissists *are* insecure, requiring constant approval in order to maintain their self-esteem.

It was funnier when they acknowledged it on the Comedy Central blog.

Maybe it's because you go around announcing your disbelief in god in courtrooms for no reason.
