Trillian is the the main reason I'm still using Windows. Of course, I'll always keep my partition for games, but the vast majority of my time spent on my computer is using Opera, Trillian, and Winamp. Two of three (or equivalent) are available.
Oh, and when Gnome supports xSnow, without removing the desktop, I'll be even more inclined to switch:P
Why isn't Nissan forced to use the name "Nissan Cars"? Only the Nissan family can use "Nissan" on its own. Otherwise, they would dilute the value of a name that's built up a reputation over many generations!
So, according to the article, NDS spent "huge sums" cracking the codes. It seems to me, that if the codes were sound, it should have been mathematically impossible for them to crack it for any amount of money (short of an optical, or quantum computer, of course). And if they weren't, why did they need to spend so much money on it?
Sure, it's fine for you Americans to yell at your kids to get them to go outside... But have you ever tried making a Tree Fort in -25C? Admittedly, it's nice during summer, and if we're lucky, it's on a Saturday.
As it stands, having the government build roads subsidises car makers. If the government spent as much on building railroad tracks as it does on maintaining highways, owning a couple trains would be as profitable as owning a fleet of trucks... A tax like this reverses the subsidies... It would cover for new roads, as the articles suggest, but could also help pay for environmental measures, as well.
How come a movie shot in New Zealand, Directected and adapted by New Zealanders, and based on a book by an Englishman, is winning "American" Film Awards?
Though I suppose if they called it International, the judges would have to watch French movies.
It's kinda pathetic that Terrorists blow something up, and governments start tossing money at militaries, and ignore their space programs. Maybe the terrorists are just using the ground stuff as a distraction, to launch their orbiting "laser" of death.
Yeah, but it has a lame building interface... also I didn't think it had very many electronic, gear or Mindstorm features... BTW, has anyone tried LegoDACTA? It's pretty cool but it is damn expensive.
I've always wished there was good software lego out there... I mean, there's Mindrover (http://www.mindrover.com), but you don't have the customizability... you pick the base and choose the parts. I like to build the base:-). Also those Lego games (like racer) are OK, but their interface for putting blocks together is a pain... as if it's designed for a console (probably 'cuz it is:-)). Anyone know where to find a good lego software simulator?
The domain "bookofseg.com" is registered to Phillip Torrone. (listed on the about page as well). According to his site , this guy works at Fallon , an advertising company devoted to "generating disproportionate results for our clients through a unique combination of rigor, relentlessness, and surprise" .
What I'm getting at is, how do we know that this site isn't just a plant by Segway's marketing agency?

The beginning end of privacy in Japan started the day the first human set foot there.
Yeah... I've been using http://www.tsr.com/ for ages... I was sort of wondering if anyone would notice :p
Jay (Community manager) just said that there'll be some news for mac-ites later this week.
I really enjoyed all three books-- particularily the last one.
However, the ending of the last one was really, really annoying to me. I recommend that anyone who reads the series skips the last ~10 pages.

DeCSS didn't have any huge backing...
(Lots of idiotic assumptions below)

Counter-Strike is for Wankers :p
Day of Defeat is better!

Slashdotite: What distribution of Linux do you use?
JRR: Crazy Web folk...
Does someone posting on Slashdot gain the same rights, or do they have to actually be part of a news-reporting organization? Or something.
the LORD should stop being so utterly intolerant and irrelevent. Atheism forever, lol.
Note:This post is not meant to hurt anyone's feelings. If they get hurt the LORD will fix them, won't he?
