    Just some thoughts I had about this "issue".

    Wouldn't the Russian Government allowing a Russian to defecate on American property send a diplomatic message? How about a bill for, "Consulting Services".

    As an American Tax Payer, I see no problem in any foreign national landing a Duke in a John. "Gennady Padalka, you are cleared for descent."

    Also, my mind wonders over to the land of Norway, to the game designers who created a game of throwing a Shoe at Ex-President Bush. I cannot help but wonder at what they're doing now. Just a thought.

    Also, your time is ALWAYS worth something, it can be quantified. Sometimes evaluating the worth of your time can yield some surprising values. For example, building your solar solution was worth more than doing nothing; already you have made a value decision. Of course, if a stripper were to perform in your driveway, you would have stopped working on the solar panel. therefore, well, you get the idea of evaluating worth of personal time spent doing something.

    The Urban Legend goes something like, "2 Post Grad students from Florida got a grant from NASA to build a Prototype Laser Tracking Device for Satellites. Both students got the same idea, the only thing small enough that was random enough for what was required were mosquitoes. After much work, and hardship, the students got the device to track the bugs, without burining them up. Then the students decrease the power of the laser just enough to only burn the wings off the critters." Folks in New Orleans at the time thought that such a device would be great in their backyard, right up to the point that their eyes would be forfeit if the laser nailed them also. I don't know if the story was true or not, but if the lasers could be adjusted so that you had different colors in a random pattern, what a cool show in your backyard you would have, right up until you nailed by the laser.

    There's a racing fable that says, "The Bull Shit ends when the Green Light's on."

    I wonder why Opera, Safari, and Lynx weren't in the bench marking? I RTFA and the one thing that stood out was, "No Test Setup". Why? OK, Why not have a test that would generate 10,000 random web page addresses and benchmark against that? How about a test that measures "Total Down Load of Content?". Now that I've popped off, could someone point me to a web page that shows how I can measure download times, and I'll submit my findings, AND show how I bench marked my results. Personally, I don't care who wins, I would like to see who Does win, and by what set of rules the winner was determined.

    At the current gas price at about $2.25 here in the L.A. area, the choice currently is OPEC, not the Energizer. But at the price of fuel going over $5.00 a gallon, those cars with Battery Power will very tempting. Solar is starting to look good also, as Edison says it needs a 100 Million Dollars to give to it higher level staff as bonuses for doing such a wonderful job. Let's see, energy from the Sun and the Wind, that I can plug into at home. It's starting to look like a very straightforward solution.

This oligopoly is currently trying to influence the Oval Office by controlling the stock market price. When this handful of people don't like what they see from government, a massive sell off sends a clear message to the government. President Jr. couldn't work things out, I hope the new kid can. The new kid will have to start with ignoring "Wall Street", and focusing on "Main Street". Jr. didn't do this, for what ever reason, and because so many people equate Wall Street with Main Street, well, you've seen the rest on CNN.com; this is wrong. But when enough people believe, reality gets ignored. I think it has something to do with, "Greed".

    Privacy? on the Internet? Time to wakeup and smell the coffee. If an Intelligence,(ignore the oxymoron), Agency wants to learn about you, they will; that's their job. I can think of some good reasons to put the presidents messages on youTube. Cost, zip. And if the president starts getting some hits on his submittals, then possibly he can have youTube add some advertising on the bottom of the video clip; and generate some money to ease the burden of us tax paying types. It helps get money flowing again, and "that's a lot of change."

    I believe it would be "telling of intentions" if the public was informed as to "Why is Tom Tom selected first". I see two things happening here. One, Tom Tom open sourcing their open source foundation application. The other is if Microsoft doesn't act fast enough in this Diamond Age society, they will be cast aside by the up and coming technology users who will most assuredly favor more Open Source over the "Pay Per View" that Microsoft is shouting at the rain.
