That would make an entertaining summer movie.

I just had a flash back from my Newtonian Mechanics class: A Spider lands on the center of a record player rotating at 45rpm's. The Spider attaches a web to the center of the record and begins to walk to the edge of the record looking for a way off. Given the weight of the spider, speed of the record; How far will the spider travel before being thrown off?
I RTFA; but some of the details seemed a little fuzzy, like the density of the outside with respect to the inside of the tube, load bearing. Maybe a 3D Real Time Model could be fashioned in something like Blender3D. If the math proves out, cool. But if not, then maybe the model could be applied to some other similar engineering solution. That in itself would be a worthy engineering accomplishment.

My eldest just turned 18, and will go off to college. I guess teaching her to be goal oriented with long term planning will finally flourish, or something else not so promising. Converting cars to run on natural gas from gasoline is fairly straightforward, going from Natural Gas to Hydrogen is also straightforward. What needs to be done is to Venture Capital conversion kits and refueling stations. The stations are already there, the owners just have to put a hydrogen tank in the back next to the natural gas tank. Nothing is free in the Transportation industry, especially Oil, and Lithium.
The U.S. sits between 2 of the largest sources of Hydrogen on this planet. Dangerous to ship? How about shipping it as Water? Then at the "Filling Station" Use Solar, and or Wind Electricity to separate the Hydrogen out. This is already being done in Norway.
Just a thought; If these Moon Rocks are so valuable, why doesn't NASA go and get some more? Consider the market for these items, maybe NASA could fund groups of explorer types that want to go and get their own rocks. After seeing the movie Knowing. I couldn't help but think how screwed Humanity would be if the planet would be in the Wrong Place, at the Wrong Time. It would take about another 5 Billion years for Earth to get back to what it is today, but even that Polyanna concept wasn't good enough. When it comes down to cold reality, only if humanity becomes a space faring culture will things like ELE be unfortunate, but survivable.
It's easy to see an emerging new business model, but I see also something that is a "Good Thing". Mexico is not a BRIC nation, its revenues are the result of the NAFTA Treaty. As a parent of a child going off to college some 2000 miles away, I see parallels in parenting, and international trade by a Donor Sovereign State. There is a pervasive belief that if a person has something to lose, they will not be so willing to make an ultimate sacrifice. Maybe when BRIC, and NAFTA reciepients can claim second, or possibly first world status; then these countries can embrace their humanity. But before we all start singing Kumbaya, lets see some reviews on the games this company is going to vend.

My experience with "Researchers" not stating their names is; 1, Its FUD, and 2, They're Show-Offs. When people do not put their names next to their research, then the results are at best, foundationless. I have found that beating the drum for Windows is a Fool's Errand.
