    I think a NASA prize for the first 40 foot cargo container packed to capacity that is launched, and successfully retrieved after a week in orbit would a HUGE step in the right stuff direction.

    With the advent of web services were its html/css in, and xml/xslt back all over https. And server side "TSR's" in between. The very nature of software engineering has changed. The result is that the complexity is greatly reduced. If I were in a culture that caters to one the 7 wonders of the world, I'd be VERY concerned about that beckoning call from beggers alley.

    I'm a little concerned about the hackers 'invited' to attend this conference. You see, school is still in session, and did the parents, or legal guardians of the 'invited' ones sign a 'parent permission' slip? Just a thought, but would any of these hackers happly admit to still wearing super hero underwear?

    One of the things I've seen from no one is a list of functions offered by both openOffice, and Microsoft Word compared to each other. That, to me, would be a web page worth reading.

    Just thinking about maybe a backup launch site would be at the city of Valera, next to Coleman county. The reason being is that Valera isn't the edge of nowhere, but you can see it from main street.

    Ummmm, my I constructively point out that the convicted of redmond, Purchased, the software from some company in Hong Kong. It would be an interesting a-ha, if the the Hong Kong folks used the openSource to create their product.

    If the plates act like frisbee's when fired, that means when one passes a dog, the dog will try to catch it by jumping up. This may be an indirect way to track the trajectory by looking at the line of jumping dogs. Of course if one sees a line of jumping coming toward you, you would have time to duck, or try and catch the frisbee yourself?

    The most constructive way to change any government is to become a part of that government. Also, if someone is in the government that shares your ideas, then help that person. Nothing magical about it. Governments are run by people.

    I've always referred to Akihabara as "Stereo City". The place is Fry's, or Circut City only on a city wide scale. On Saturday's, the main street is closed to cars, and the street fills up with a mass of humanity. There's a Wendy's at the far end the main street from the train station. Anything that is electric, and for sale can be found there. There may be bargins else where, but on main street in Akihabara, if its electric, it can be found and purchased.

    The one thing that keeps bubbling up in my mind is for the last 20 years, Mac developers have programmed using the "flavor" of Motorola which is different than the flavor of Intel. I think the nightmare will begin when Mac Developers start having to re-code proven motorola instruction sequences for their new Intel Overlords.

    If a "Mutagen" could be created so that SCUBA divers didn't need tanks, and the Nitrogen in the blood was released by exhaling; I know of a market of about 20 million divers that would line up for this bad boy.

    Its not new; I did this same thing for a company 2 years ago, I still have the proof-of-concept code. The progarm could handle Debit, Credit, Gasoline, EBS, and Gift Cards. The solution was a combination of WAP, PERL, and Web Services. The message transaction protocol is ISO-8583 for the VISA folks. The boss liked the idea of a merchant that could still process sales transactions when the lights went out. My boss's main concern was transitting card data in the clear. Now its got me thinking, WAP and openSSL? An interesting idea...

    Well, if a dead lake would be needed for the alge, then maybe this startup company might want to consider the lake at Mexico city, Mexico. Ttransportation cost would be almost zero, and no one would notice or say anything if a refinery was built next to the lake.

    How does one keep Microsoft's Web Servies from removing XML processing instructions from the XML output? or, how can one include a XML processing instruction as part of the response for a generic HTML Form generated HTTP Post when Microsoft's Web Servies is the output conduit?

    It appears that Ulrich Drepper's work is based on the type of business model that third party closed source companies use to evaluate their products. It appears that if one ignores the creative talents of others on a global scale, a person can become one with the third party types. But why would software developers want to alienate future customers?
