    Felons who attempt to purchase firearms can be sentenced to prison for 10 years. Unless Brady law violators are arrested and convicted, the Clinton administration can have no idea of how many criminals actually failed to acquire guns because of the 1993 law. Despite Clinton administration claims on how dangerous illicit gun buyers are, the federal government prosecutes fewer than 1 in 1,000 violators. The number of convictions from prosecutions for making false statements on Brady forms declined from 253 in 1994 to 36 in 1997.

    REGINA - When it comes to owning guns in Canada, Saskatchewan and the northern territories are leading the way, according to a study by the Canadian Firearms Centre.

    There is one gun for every person in the North and two guns for every five people in Saskatchewan.

    In Atlantic Canada, there is one gun for every three residents. Alberta, British Columbia and Quebec all have the national average of one gun for every four people.

    In the small (11,000 people) town that I live in in TX the cable company is rolling out cable modems in the next 60 days. One of the packages they will offer is 128k/128k from $19.95 per month (less than the cost of a second phone line). This will cause quite a few people to switch.

    How is that a misquote? A normal person hearing those words would think that Al "Clipper is wonderful" Gore was claming he invented the Internet.

    How else do you parse the words "I took the initative in creating the Internet.">
