  3. Does it? on Linspire CEO dispels Linspire Linux Myths · · Score: 1

We (most geeks out there) usually go around and say "that piece of software is bloated to death", "ICQ is bloated, get the lite version", etc, but actually Linspire is the other way around... its a distro so trimmed down that you don't have the choice to either buy their click-n-run products or try to get a compiler installed-- even if theres no compiler binaries by default.

So I guess the old Modded-Down-to-death question is quite on-topic: "Yeah but, does it run Linux? :D "

Joke apart, I'm not sure if its a good idea to restrict the user experience THAT much. Sure, you get the advantage of controlling whats going to be installed (and what not), thus having more chances to get a stable environment (in the same way than Apple's OS, when it was on Apple hardware only, reducing the chances of crashing), but too bad if you wanted to get under the hood and customize Linspire all you wanted-- you're just stuck.

For example I bought a LG 5450 from Telus, but Telus blocks downloading tones/wallpapers off the net, forcing users to download off Telus website only.

When I asked about the phone-to-PC data cable, the vendor said it didnt exist, when in fact it does

Noir - FF7 - Jenova for Classical Piano
    Freemind+Graylightning - Crono Trigger - Tears for a Girl

    Other remixes worth listening:

    Jeremy Robson - FF7 - Philharmonic suite Part 1
FFMusic Dj - FF7 - String Machine (Corel Prison Remix) -> Best Trance Song on OCRemix imo
cornflex - FF7 - Fantastico Mambo Techno Disco de Chocobo
    Standby - FF8 - Desperados -> Electronica, 160BPM
Ben Lewis - Metroid - Brinstar Theme
Rayza - Sonic 1 - Green Hills (Euroclub '95 mix)

Lets note that theres another monster (cant remember the name) I saw in FF6/7/8 (perhaps 4 too) that does a "bad breath" attack. When you see that monster, usually you have to run for your life.

Also, shiva/ifrit/Ramuh-Quezacotl/Leviathan/Alexander are Summons/GF's that apears than more than one FF.

Interfaces are functional, backgrounds are decorative.

I have to disagree here (for the interface part)

Lets take Winamp example, while we're talking about it.

In the 1.x and 2.x days, it doesnt matter what skin you are using: all the functionality wont move by a pixel.

On the other hand, with today's Winamp 3.x and 5.x, the buttons, sliders, and whatever components are placed whereever the skin creator wants it to be located, and in my book I call that decorative in some way - having to search for the "load a file" button everytime I load a new skin is somewhat a pain. And having a skin that takes half of the screen isnt really "functionnal", but rather annoying.

    My two (canadian) cents.

    What he said on-air.

Granted, its not CRTC to judge whats good for listeners or not, i totally agree, but they (CHOI-FM) got warned in the past about many things (see the CRTC report), and their broadcast rights got extended for two years (2002-2004) instead of seven because of complaints etc.

CHOI-FM 'doesnt seem to comply to the rules even with that warning' (from CRTC point of view), so here they are, axed.

I sound like im taking CRTC side with this message, but dont get me wrong, CHOI must stay alive, its the only good private radio station that doesnt belong to any big networks (Astral & Quebecor), and AFAIK the only radio that focuses on rock music in the eastern Quebec.
