With games going more and more realistic, I dont see whats the problem with games beating TV, which is kind of dull: turn on and watch. Hell, its not about Pong anymore.
Counter Strike hit the multiplayer gaming quite hard too. So hard that today, theres a Quake3 mod (Threewave?) where you can play "a la CS", die and wait for a team winning. I dont know all the details, but its a mix of CTF and CS, and its called CaptureStrike.
I think it was an issue in the "pre-Vorbis 1.0 final" days. I can be wrong, but the code was not optimized to decode using as less CPU cycles as possible. Near the Release candidates dates, there was the first "possible" hardware player (maybe it was due to unpopularity, though). Can anyone confirm?
Heck, theres like 1% to 5% (made up statistic) of the home PCs using/having a multimonitor setup..
I think its a good idea for users messing around lotsa applications, but before going onto gaming, i guess mainstream needs a good reason to buy a second monitor (gaming or apps) when one seems to be enough.

With released source codes, any security breaches:
1) MS certainly would blame on the souce code leaks (and not their buggy software) 2) emphasize more on their stand on closed source code policy, open source = more security vulnerability
You seem to be assuming that addressing poverty is the responsibility of the US. Why?
I didnt say that: I just said the armys budget was so high (in $$) that they could give it away to every human out there, and still every human would be millionaires.
Hey, what was the point of capping the DSL service last summer for some month and then removing that cap? That was a weird move from bell (videotron too, i think)
It sounds as logical as saying: "if everyone use his car and goes to the same bridge, the bridge will be jam packed." Common sense!
But, NEWS FLASH: On a cable, you're plugged on the same cable than your neighbors. For the DSL, you are ALONE on your cable thats wiring you to the DSL building (whatever its called).
But, you're right. On top of that (whatever connnection type), the ISP cannot provide more bandwidth than it got.
(For those whos not old enough/just dont get it: WAD files for Doom/Doom 2 (Heretic too?) are the equivalent for the.PAK/.pk3 files in the Quake series. When someone made a map for Doom, the file extension used was.WAD)
I actually feel better without [too much] caffeine (Pepsi, actually). Even that at some point i couldnt drink it anymore; it was disgusting.
In fact, I can get so many colds (if I dont drink alot of Vit. C) that its not even funny, like once a week (due to some pollen allergy). Go figure why, but drinking works.
I mean, we're nerds, isnt it? Nerds just dont go much outside. And now they call that "News for nerds" !? Sheesh!
so slashdotting isnt going to do much :(
Remember Internet Killed the Video Star?

I seriously dont call a game realistic when theres no horn in the cars, like Need For Speed Underground IIRC

We have not enough time to implement (on a worldwide scale) an alternative energy source before oil runs out.
Check out this for explainations (sp?).

So, you need an easy-to-use solution for Windows?
Don't tell me you're actually using windows media player for the usual listening. I would be laughing so hard!
Winamp supports Vorbis since Winamp 2.80 (*). Is that mainstream enough for you?
Now how about Vorbis encoding? http://www.dbpoweramp.com/dmc.htm
*: Vorbis available on non-Lite (smallest) download packages - anyways, the plugin is findable on winamp's site.
I was talking about multimonitoring with a single graphic card (with multiple outputs), but it looks like it has been already done :/
Just for fun, try to create a new folder on your desktop of your windows machine with only the left click.
Thats easy. Go to the desktop, press the contextual menu key (next to the right windows key), new, folder.
Mouse only? Double click on My Computer, press the "Parent folder button". File, new, folder.
Windows users needs two or more buttons on the mouse. Macs needs one. Linux/*NIXes needs none.

I dont think so, since multimonitoring needs windows drivers/software to be configured.
:-)
What, is there games actually supporting multimonitoring on Linux?

UT2003 used Ogg Vorbis for background music. Is it so for UT2004 too? Im downloading it at the moment (d/l at 5Kb/s :S)

Yay! Time to make some Doom/Doom 2 maps!
