Actually, no, don't. The Cooking Mama game for the Wii is crap. If possible, get the DS version instead, or try something else entirely.

I wonder if all the late night advertising for the trailer was worth it. There is no way anyone sat there thru the whole 30 minute spot and watched the timer tick down.

The hype for the trailer was a bit of a let down. It has given me second thoughts about the game too. Is it really going to be worth the price of a 360?

I suggest ordering them OEM direct from nintendo on their website. Thats what I finally did. Now I 'm just waiting for the Wii-play/remote bundle to get my fourth Wii-mote.

Theoretically, couldn't you copyright the likeness of your own house? It is your property, as long as you don't default on the mortgage. Any work you do on it would be your own IP, I guess. So then, what right does some company have to make money off of selling the image of your house? What if you wanted to sell images of your own house? IANAL, so I don't really have a good base of knowledge on this, I'm just going off of general sense.

  11. Suggestion: Wrist Weights on The Good Fortune of Wii Exercise · · Score: 1

I bought wrist/ankle weights a few weeks before I got my Wii. They work! The little bit of weight resistance can be felt and I can tell it is working my muscles. They were only $20 for the pair.
Just them on your forearm(s) using the Velcro(TM) straps and you've got a decent work out for your arms. Luckily I walk to work as well, so they double as ankle weights.

  13. Re:Unintended Consequences on The Return of the Fairness Doctrine? · · Score: 1

The wqay I understand news agencies these days, is it's more about profit and the shareholder now. The news agency isn't going to pay for the extra expenses of researching that much. You can see it now with the lack of fact checking and the inclusion of advertisements disguised as news stories.

Something like the fairness doctrine will force news agencies to be wise with their budgets instead of simply short changing the research staff. Accuracy will become the best policy, not how sensational the spin.

Lets not misrepresent or exagerate the truth.

I believe the intent of the fairness doctrine is more to get the facts underlying an arguement out to the general public. Let the "man on the street" think for himself. If you want to include an opinion, then you should probably provided equal time to more than one of the most prevalent sides of the arguement.

  16. C64 ver 2.0? on Ghostbusters Game Confirmed, On Hold · · Score: 1

I was never very good at the Commodore version. I blame it on youth and inexperience. I think I was only five or six years old when I first played it. Gearing up properly and budgeting was essential it seemed. I would frequently go broke within a few missions and end up not being able to pay the bills. Power bill? Uh oh, can't make that this month. Goodbye containment.

I suppose not one of these console scalpers cares that they hurt the market for the games on these machines. That extra $50-100 in price that is being forced on early adopters of the new consoles hurts the game publishers and in turn the consoles and the market for those consoles.

I mean really, would someone please think of the profits?!?

Okay, how many fewer games are being bought because of the low supply/high demand/eBay mark-up trend? The money to purchase games for the console has to come from somewhere, and I'd suspect it is all going towards just getting a PS3 console into a home.

Should Sony go after eBay resellers for damages? Could they?

The only probable bugs with the Wii, will be with the new controller. Mainly because the console architecture has had all of the last generation to work out whatever bugs may have been there, which were remarkably few for the 'Cube, in comparison to the competition. I've owned all three of the last generation consoles, the only the works as good as the day I bought it (Used!), is the Gamecube. Peronally I thought the 'Cube was the winner as of the last go 'round because of this, although I am a big GTA fan.
