Good point. Must be nice to just have free hardware thrown at you... "Yeah, I'm going to need a few more of these GeForce FX 9999 Super Ultra Plus ++'s for some, uh, tests..."
"During our tests, we literally fried an NVIDIA FX 5950 Ultra. One moment, the card was running just fine, the next there was a loud bang and it smelled as if something had burned. We will investigate this phenomenon further to rule out the possibility of this being a coincidence."
Yeah, we *may* have fried a $450 video card, but don't worry about that... on with the review!

I have a personal website (have had one for quite awhile) and while I do have to put up with a certain degree of harassment, I don't really mind it. For one, putting up with people's opinions (especially those people that I do not know, or care to know) is easy. They don't know me and simply feel like venting or flaming me -- who cares. On the other hand, having a personal website is a great way to keep in touch with busy friends or keep people up to date. I have a personal journal on mine (searchable, and viewable for any dat since I started it in October of 2000), as well as an online photo gallery of over 5600 pictures. I used to have a business section on it as well, but I have since migrated that to a new domain. Overall though, I enjoy having a personal website, and I think my friends would agree.
I agree with you -- I feel like there's nothing even important about this picture itself. I mean, nobody can tell anything about the campus from the picture besides that they need a few Macs, but why should that matter when they have a large Mac-based product line? Office.X, IE for Mac, VirtualPC... they don't test them on typewriters -- they need Macs.
He was clearly fired for other reasons than the picture.
Well, if they launch at night it will be harder for the tethered craft to get good images (for mission control and of course press purposes), so while I don't know for sure, I'd bet that they'll aim for a launch with some light.
My eyes read "AI" as "Al" (as in Al Gore) and I started laughing because I didn't think that there would be an actual article on how he is going nowhere...
The quality of these recordings will far surpass the quality of someone standing in the crowd with a mic. We've all heard those and they suck. These recordings will be recorded off the sound board; the quality will be amazing -- anyone who has done this before can attest to this. Essentially every inch of the stage and every item on the stage has a mic, and each is individually leveled on the board. The recordings for sale will be directly from this.
With Sprint it really can depend on the phone. I had a defective Samsung 8500 a year back and it dropped calls all the time and really was awful. I upgraded to a Sanyo 5150 and since then my problems have dissapeared. The quality difference is amazing, and calls are crystal clear.
This is not an uncommon practice. Here at URI we have a Packeteer box installed between the Residence Hall network and the edge routers. It limits bandwidth to P2P applications to 10MB/s (burstable to 20MB/s). This is on a network with 60MB/s to I1 and 65MB/s to I2.
But what's wrong with looking exactly like it? I don't see anything wrong with that, especially if it gets people to switch and slowly gets them acclimated to the Linux. So it looks the same, big deal! People who like that will use it, others will go with RH or Debian or something else that they'd rather use! I really don't think the look matters that much, it's the underlying pieces that matter.
In order to get people to switch from Microsoft products they need to feel familiar and comfortable with the environment. Do you think anyone would willingly switch if they had to look at something they didn't recognize or couldn't easily figure out how to use? If you don't like the way it looks don't use it, but don't know the fact that it might actually get some people to switch.

Working Mirror.
The detail put into that car is amazing -- for those that cannot get the images to load, here is a mirror.

359kb/s ... but I'm on a University connection now too, so it's possible if they are an I2 school as we are, that it's routing my traffic over I2.

Yeah I hear ya, and I agree. OK, truce! :)
OK, well we can disagree; either way, I personally don't care what it looks like as long as people aren't forced into Microsoft products.

It is a fake; that's been discussed ad nauseum in the forum.
Yea yea yea... I was just trying to get the link up; I know HTML.
Here's a picture of it off the forum:

Yeah, so let's help them out with that bandwidth crunch by /.ing their servers... :)
