    I don't know what it's like in Seattle, but here in Los Angeles, that sounds like a great way to get car-jacked.

    In my section of LA county our HOV lanes are only HOV lanes during Monday - Friday rush hours (5-9AM) (3-7PM), otherwise anyone is able to use the lanes.

    i'm just wondering why anyone would need a solid state camera?

    for video, (which no one is going to watch faster than realtime anyway) tapes seem to be the best method yet since they are easily storeable, have less moving parts than hard disks, and have far more storage space (ratio wise) than solid state media.

    when we were kids, we built one of these cannons, and started shooting marshmallows.

    the toughest kid in the group decided that he was man enough to take a marshmallow to the stomach...
    well, he wasn't.

    he got hit and went down like a ton of bricks. he was on the ground for a good 15 minutes.

    three weeks later he still had a red mark on his stomach from where he was hit and everyone in gym class told him it looked like a hickey!

    doesn't the highway fund come from the federal tax on gasoline? the gas station in that state would just not charge that tax, and all would be well, (and gas cheaper too).

    my dad had RK done in the 80s, he went from being 20/3000 to 20/70 about, he also had the lasik done in the 90s and now his vision is about 20/30. he does have the starburst effect from the RK though, and it's so bad that he hates to drive at night, other than that he is very happy he had both procedures, he doesn't need glasses anymore.

    my aunt also had very bad vision, 20/200, (there's a funny family story about her first date with my uncle, she was driving and was trying to be funny and she swerved to hit one of those bags that fly across the freeway and then she laughed meniachially, and my uncle in the passenger seat was horrified that she was so villianous that she would swerve to run over a rabbit and then laugh about it.)

    she had the lasik done and she no longer wears glasses and she is very happy with the results

    i however am very happy with my new contacs after wearing glasses since the 4th grade, i had always been afraid of sticking some plastic in my eyes. however, my eyes to get bothered when i read a computer monitor for more than a couple hours. but i can see without glasses and i don't need to worry about where i put them. (i just need to remember to put in my contacs in the morning)

    you'd have to find someone fast enough to get you a download stream that was 3Mbps

    most your downloads will still be at the same speed, but you will be paying twice as much for it.

    also, bitch bitch bitch, if you want the bandwidth, buy a T1, it's like $495 a month.
    if you don't want to pay that much then rent bandwidth from someone else and deal with their TOS

    ISPs pay REAL MONEY for their bandwidth... you should too!!!

    Go to college now. Go to college before you get a life, like a wife and kids and a car payment, and a house payment. If you decide to change (or HAVE to change) careers later, it won't TOTALLY SUCK because you have to go back to school, and figure out how to pay for your wife, kids and house.

    I was surprised to get a letter with both my name and my boss's name on it. (he registered my domain for me)

    I would agree that it is very slimy, my boss says that he gets like 20 of these everyday.

    This isn't the first time Gray Davis has stolen money from taxpayers. Last summer he spent $12 BILLION DOLLARS paying $9.00 per killowatt because of some lame energy crisis. Now this year that $12 BILLION has to come from somewhere, and education gets cut. And he's running for re-election???

    hear hear. i hate programming. a lot. but that doesn't mean that i don't know anything about computers, or about how they work, or even how to program for them. i bet that guy can hack a kernel but can't figure out how to change his oil or replace an alternator or something like that.

    that's gay. federal government = us. no magic free money there. i'm not paying for some asshole who doesn't want to pay for his connection to have a higher speed connection than me, while I have to shell out $60 bucks a month for my DSL, even then, my ISP is getting screwed by Verizon, because their profit margin is like $2 dollars
