As another possible slashdot subscriber-only feature, how about a weekly (daily? hourly?) statistical analysis of slashdot activity, a la the Google Zeitgeist?
My current favorite is ID3-TagIT. It lets you go back and forth from filenames to tags in both directions, supports batch tagging and batch renaming, upper/lower case correction, id3v1<->id3v2, automatic sorting into folders, etc. It's very comprehensive and easy to use.
Unfortunately, OE doesn't have the same object model as Outlook; in fact, it has no publicly scriptable API at all. Score 1 for OE-- since it can't be scripted, it isn't vulnerable to these types of worms.
First, judging from the crash site location, the missle could have been launched from a boat or another concealed location.
Also, IIRC from reading enough Tom Clancy and Dale Brown, Stingers and other MANPADS are virtually invisible-- no smoke trail, and can only be detected by their IR signature. Add atmospheric conditions (e.g. a low sun like today's) and it's perfectly plausible that a Stinger launch could occur undetected.
It's not just a series of still environment shapshots at all! If you click on one of the actions, then click play, you can watch the raising (and any of the preliminary actions) from several different views!
Speaking of relays playing a song, lots of Fleet ATMs in Boston and NY (I've not seem them elsewhere) are engineered so that when you get cash, the little money-moving belts play the Woody Woodpecker laugh before they spit out your money. It's always good for a laugh...
As a professional lobbyist, you probably have a better idea of what it takes to be heard in Washington than most folks here do.
What advice would you offer to those trying to organize the "Slashdot Lobby?" How can they best go about forming their organization, raising money, and then turning that money and human capital into actual political influence?

How do you do that, exactly? How much video/audio can you carry around with you?

... is for Hilary Rosen to get a few pies in the face. Where's the widespread Hacktivism when we need it?!?
As many people may need to speak at once (and to avoid the requirement of having individuals constantly muting their microphones),
Why not just install a noise gate at the microphone inputs?
For the non-audio-inclined slashdotters, a noise gate sets a minimum sound level threshold before the signal is transmitted.
He meant console gaming, not PC gaming in particular
"According to IDC, the movie office receipts for Y2000 was $7.75 billion, while the interactive games industry revenue was $8.2 billion!" (found here)

no, the FULL lyrics! I read the article...
Does anyone have the full lyrics to this turkey?

The story had a few errors:
Where did you get a 37xx for $299? I've been looking, and even the 36xx series go for $350-400...
thanks...
see this link for a picture explaining what I mean.

That would be Tom Reilly.

Windows 2000 fixes this problem... the Open With context-menu lists the last few programs you used to open that file type.

AOL/Gateway/Transmeta have already built such a device:
See links:
AOL's page
CNet Article.
In all the pictures they show it as a countertop item, but in the original press-release video they showed it wall-mounted.
Again, the pricing (at $599) and the ISP restrictions (AOL only) kill any chance of success for this device...
