    This, I expect. It's what auto manufacturers are doing.

    But tractors are not meant to run where cars do, like cities, villages, crowded highways...
    I mean, could you expect tractors to stay in an area with stable mobile coverage? Or aren't they meant to run on vast rural emptinesses where you haven't (almost) any?
    In any case, a Faraday cage would help the owners in protecting their properties.
    Again, a tech savvy owner has plenty of means to do it.

    I wonder how can John Deere remotely lock a tractor.
    I see only two options:
    1. They install a mobile modem (with sim) into every tractor or
    2. They require the tractor to go online (via WiFi) every day or so.
    In any case I see easy ways to circumvent option no.2. But with option no.1 they'd be assuming universal mobile coverage across all USA, which seems not to be the case...

    I mean, if a delivery service can sell same day shipping or 1-day shipping (and it actually does it), then you too can. But if the delivery services are just a 2-day shipping, then there is little you can effectively do.

    That's the solution. It's well documented, it's a federated protocol, it's already here.,
    Of course, you need to convince Google to restore it and people to give it a try (again).
    With the Google part being very important!

    But webassembly should have tight compatibility among implementations.
    As of now, even Javascript needs some extra code to ensure compatibility.
    Due to its low-level nature, webassembly would show larger discrepancies and need larger amounts of code for compatility.
    No, you didn't convince me, unless the "long term" is within a couple of years.

    I am fed up with the design of mobile devices (less than 1 Kg) useful only for social-bullsh!t.
    I need a way to connect to my servers and network equipment by CLI on a reasonable screen.
    Touch keyboard eat 50% of a landscape screen.
    Bluetooth keyboard are nice, but need an extra charger.
    Netbooks are great tools, but you need to find one: it's an endangered species.

    Maybe after some use.
    The alternative is not to harvest any from the atmosphere and brun something in order to "immediately turn it into waste-heat".
    The idea is to subtract energy from the atmosphere, convert (part of) it into energy and use it.
    Maybe I am wrong, but I don't see this plan any worse than any other plan about renewables. This very one has this plus to drain energy from atmosphere: do you know any other way to do it?
