If the pilot realises the mountain is there in the last few seconds and tries to put the plane in a steep climb (thus raising the nose) it is possible for the bottom rear of the plane to hit the ground first.
Its not just a theory, it did happen this way for flight 901 in 1979. There were no survivors, all 257 passengers and crew died in the initial impact (with Mount Erebus) and fireball.
"I agree, but the current federal statute only prohibits the federal government from getting copyrights on works it creates. It ought to do the same for all governments, at all levels, worldwide."
Excuse me but the rest of the world is not subject to US law.
There are people that live just south of the border with Canada that would disagree with you. And even if the 'official' sunrise is before 9am in the winter, if you have hills, trees or buildings to the south of you it will be a while before you see the sun in December and January.
Why not make all new planes with NO door between the passenger compartment and flight deck. Of course you would need a separate door for the flight crew to board and leave the plane when its on the ground, and a bathroom they could use but it would certainly end the problem of hijacking.
"Why do we have to waste time arguing about the cause? If a guy comes into an ER, and passes out, they don't stand around arguing about why he passed out before they help the guy."
You've never watched "House" have you...
Geting back on topic, moving to more efficient vehicles has other advantages than just reduced CO2 emmissions, oil will eventually run out.
Anyone we are going to drop nukes on probably has some form of air defenses that stealth would be useful in actually getting to the target. Of course your more likely to use the stealth planes to knock out the air defenses first, and then use other planes to drop the nukes.
Since these F22's were going to be based in Japan, its not likely they would be expected to carry nukes. I don't think the airbases in Japan have nukes in their arsenals, the Japanese wouldnt like that.
If someone in that region needs to be nuked, we'd probably use ICBM's or Sub launched missiles.
All the extra solar planets that have been found so far are large gas giant type planets.
Our telescopes aren't good enough (yet) to detect small earth size rocky planets.
While spectographic analysis of these planets atmosphere is interesting, it does not give us information about the possiblity of life (as we know it, Jim) since these aren't the places we would find life in this solar system either. Maybe these other planetary systems do include rocky planets, or moons (like titan and europa ) that could be candidates for some form of life, but we wouldn't find that out by looking at the atmospheres of JUpiter and Saturn
Or you could just open the doors at night and let in the below 0F, and shut them during the day when its warmer outside. (well that would work here in the midwest in winter)
If someone is 'selling their time' or 'providing a service' for real world dollars, thats called 'employment' and the real money gained for that is subject to taxation. (assuming they live in a country/state that has income tax.)

AmigaOS 4

It wasn't a motorized floppy (in the sense of insertion and ejection) but it did detect a diskchange automatically. However if when it scanned the directory block on the disk, it found it was corrupted, it would run a disk validator program. Unfortunatelyhe first place it would look for the disk validator program was on the floppy disk that was in the drive, so a hacker could write a virus that maskeraded as the disk validator and it could automatically run whenb the disk was inserted.
This type of virus was made obsolete by later versions of AmigaDOS (Version 2 and higher) and there were good antivirus programs in shareware and freeware.

"How do you get electricity out of your nuclear power plant?"
Photovoltaic cells
(The fusion reactor is a a safe distance of 93 million miles)

I don't drink coffee, I drink Mello Yello/Mt Dew/Vault
You insensitive clod
Its going to be nearly a million miles away, so its out of reach for any repair mission (for the forseable future anyway.)
However other countries aren't so strict with their country domains (I heard that Tonga and Tuvalu sold theirs to the highest bidder)
Hmm 6 dimensions, 3 of space and 3 of time...
Definately sounds like Jacob Burrough's theory (from the book by R A Heinlein)

Peril sensitive? Zaphod needs 2 pairs.
And in other countries that speak English (rather than american) too.
I was born and raised in NZ, but now live in the US.
Surely seies 4 of Dr Who was around 40 years ago with Patrick Troughton.
There have been quite a few different Doctors since then.

Is a wok parabolic in cross section or is it circular?

I am guessing that in Australia they would oscillate at 50Hz (or some multiple thereof) since that is the power line frequency there.
(I'm not an Aussie, but I was born and raised 'across the ditch' and in NZ the fluorescents did flicker at 50hz)

Can you buy a NEW computer with XP preinstalled still? If so what manufacturer/models.

Is anyone worried about what the effects might be on the person sitting at the desk? Long term exposure to magnetic radiation may cause cancer...
Do you think it would survive a collision with a kangaroo? I hear they can be a problem in the outback.
Not this winter.
Its 34f (1c) outside and its after 11pm
Did they spot any fish houses on Titan?
That would be cool, as long as you don't need special paper or ink.
