Anybody know if the Wii will be released in China? Cause the gamecube never got released here, and instead we got the iQue which is like a souped up N64. Although the DS has Chinese games and is released here. So hopefully that means Nintendo has embraced and can't afford to ignore the huge chinese market.

  15. Crazy in Japan on Casual Gaming the Real Next Gen? · · Score: 2, Insightful

I recently went to Japan, and the prolifiration of the DS is just crazy there, everywere you see people of all ages. playing with DSs. So i think what is happening is more previously non-gamers are turning into casuals, and more casuals are turning hardcore.

Myself included, I have never owned a console before, but recently i bought a GBA, and a few games and was mostly a 'casual', but then i bought a flashcard (http://www.supercard.cn/) and couldn't stop playing constantly. That has since wore off, and now i rarely play anymore. but now my gf has taking over and is playing like crazy. So i think a lot of people are changing between being hardcore and casuals in different periods of time.

To me it is pretty much on-topic, as chinese actually kill people for spreading what they call "society de-stabilising" information or whatever. I'm too lazy to search for links, but i know yahoo gave up at least 3 or 4 journalist/bloggers/people up to the chinese government. And you kills mofo all the time for even offences, just ask Amnesty International.

I'm actually living in China now, so i see on a daily basis how fucked up the society. and how they lie to people. and it just scares the hell out me.
