    We have Sun workstations at work and PCs at work. For place and route of Xilinx FPGAs I have found that the PC just blow the suns away on speed. These generally take about 1 to 2 hours to run onthe PC and 3 to 6 on the Suns. I think the time has past where Suns out perform PCs.

    You do know that the kill all the lawyers quote from Shakespeare was made by the villain of the play when they were going to over throw the government don't you? So basically the lawyers were the people standing in the way of repression and not the other way around.

    I don't think that Wal-Mart sells Eminem's music. Certainly Wal-mart.com did not have any. Wal-Mart gets a lot of flack for requesting clean versions of discs for sale at wal-mart.

    I have played both of these on my palm. They are both incredibly weak in terms of their ability to play GO to the point of being worthless. I beat the handily spotting 9 nine stones and I am not a very good player.

    No that is simply not true. You can make rockets that are fundamentally stable. by adjusting where the center of mass is and the shape and location of fins. When I was into model rocketry as a kid I had a small program which would tell you if your rocket would be stable.

    Filling up landfills is really not the issue at all. There is so much more empty land compared to actual landfill this is a complete non issue. You can sensible worry about it being expensive to create landfills. You can worry about pollution from landfills but running out of land for them is not really an issue.

    You know I thought this also. But for some reason Amazon has not been able to sell for less. I think that the online retailers will have to survive on their breadth of stock rather than the low prices.

    Not playing on DVD players is a really bad move. Most DVD players are marketed as a home entertainment console. Plays movies plays music. I can really see people not having a CD player to play this music.

    Airline deregulation has been a tremendous success. It is cheaper to fly now than when airlines were deregulated many years ago.

    Phone deregulation has also been great. It is much cheaper to call long distance now than before deregulation.

    Really? Do you have a cite for that? I was under the impression that about the only thing that was done was stopping federal funding for research into that.

    I don't think that human cloning is outlawed in most countries. It is certainly not in the US. That might change quickly with the recent news of that company having some small success with it.

    My cable modem has been rock solid. Easy installation works with linux, works with windows, works with my linksys box so my wife's computer can be on the net at the same time. Generally faster than my connection at work for a big communications company. I have no complaints at all.

    I'm not at all surprised that judges think that open source enthusiasts are pirates; Think about the rallying cry, "Information wants to be free!" To the non-technical audience, that means "I don't want to pay for my information!"

    That is what it means to a large percentage of the technical audience too.

    They zoom into just the ends of the graph. If the bar being twice as long done not mean twice as good what is the point of the graph you have to read the numbers 2 know what is going on.
