Well, I used to use light window managers like XFCE before... That was until I realized my wallpaper was larger than my window manager, when compressed.
Let me tell you, it's pretty annoying to spend 30 minutes trying to duplicate a bug, only to find out in the end it was a configuration error or some other unrelated problem, where if the user had read documentation they would have solved it.
That's why I now like to torment the users of my software.
As the report said, they have a higher penetration amongst early adopters. These are usually much harder to please, so unless the report compared satisfaction amongst the same groups, it won't be entirely accurate.
If you mean West as in north-west of the Atlantic ocean, sure.
But in Europa, pretty much everyone speaks at least 2 languages, and learning a 3rd in high-school is mandatory in most countries. Sure, not everyone learns the 3rd one well... But monolingualism is pretty rare here.
Hell, I'm on my 5th language and I've never been any good at learning them.
The point of watching is that you suspend your belief, but if they force you to do so on something stupid like the UI then it ruins the movie.
And also, I don't agree with the original article on the Minority Report UI. It's not an UI for office work, if he stands there waving his hands for more than 15 minutes then he already failed. And the information presented did not appear easily processed for display in 2D.
Yeah, cause someone who has had 3 semesters of C really knows how to do teach about data structures...
Pretty much every popular language around uses similar syntax to C, so I'd say just get them to make something trivial, and then correct the obviously ugly and brain-dead code that emerges. It's kinda like teaching someone to play go, just make them used to the shapes and sequences that emerge. Afterwards they can learn the more complex concepts.
I believe he was asking for us to explain why that particular country was picked as an example, rather than someplace where something interesting is happening, like Iraq.
Uhm... The reason IEEE does not have consistent rules for this is because different definitions make sense in different domains. We already know several useful definition, it's nothing new.

There's actually quite a lot of people with more money than brains, but that doesn't mean they can afford the iPhone.

Uhm, Cisco is suing over IP, while this story is about IP... Two totally different things.
I don't know... Does anyone have the 'address' to the 'website' in question?
I call this the "Women and gay men are equally bad at engineering" theorem.

For a while I was kinda confused, wondering what the Fantastic Four had to do with Internet Explorer. Thanks for clearing that up!!!
Lucky for you, GCC does know it should ask you to make it either "if (x == 0)" or "if ((x = 0))".
On the other hand, I have no idea what "balticsmash" is supposed to be.
Next time you should link to an article that actually supports your claim, instead of one that comes to exactly the opposite conclusion.
New Year's resolutions are for people who want to procrastinate for a few months.

By your logic we should be seeing dozens of "FIRST VIRUS ON WINDOWS" headlines per year.
I don't have pi digits.
I think the real conclusion is that you can't spot a contradiction.
Uhm, the article said Apple, not Windows.
As is well known, we users of MacOSX are all tall with athletic bodies.
What, are you trying to tell me you don't put both to good use? That's so boring.
Ah, let me just tag this article 'semanticweb'... there, much better now...
Perhaps in 2007 we'll get semantically correct posts too.
Is your friend's name by any chance bash.org?

What is it that makes 13 years the magical age of heightened folly?
It's called puberty, you'll understand why afterwards.
I don't know, but it certainly seems likely to constipate a president.
