5. Perhaps the most important point of all: Bittorrent cannot stream files. The viewer must wait until the file is completely downloaded. With Youtube, they can simply watch their show with no intermediary steps.
Well, as some above poster pointed out, that is not true as BT can prioritize what pieces to download first.
There has been some discussion in my mailing-list about what would happen if all peers did this. I came conclusion that assuming we got a reasonably healthy swarm where most of the peers download faster than their playback, (twice as fast should be enough) and those peers use the spare bandwidth to download the rarest chunks, then that should ensure there is enough leechers with the last parts of the torrent. I don't think the randomized rarest-first algorithm would even need to be tweaked for this to work properly.
The stores won't put an open item that looks like *that* back on the shelf, so fewer returns. Uhm, they won't take back a non-functioning item because they can't resell it due the wrapping being messed up? WTF?
Well, we've had this for a long time in ecchi mangas. It has already been "the next big thing" in that field, now I'm waiting for the next thing to arrive.
You think you're being clever, but you fail at analyzing the PS3 queue correctly.
The table queue has two different ways of queuing, where they stand around waiting for a table and one where the table is taken prior to getting food. The former is optimal, while the latter isn't. This is because the table has a period of time where it is not being used for its primary purpose, eating.
Where in the PS3 queue does any inefficiency off PS3 distribution accrue? The PS3's will be distributed at the same pace no matter how many decide to camp out for a week. If you're just pissed cause someone else with more dedication will get one before you, why not just say so instead of making up some bad armchair analysis of the situation?
There's a pun in there about being exact, I think that pun might even be constructed with several layers of punyness, but I'll leave that as an exercise for the reader.
Yeah, I was going to comment on that same thing... We got an aprox. ~2.6 billion solar-mass black hole according to our latest calculations. (From amongs other things observing stars orbiting rather close to it)
Well, we're actually quite well educated and you shouldn't have any problem finding people here who would know about that theory. Though I guess we prefer our current system as we get less crappy goods/services stuffed down our throats, like you guys do over there.
I thought the point was to use very small values of zero.

Sounds like you got some idiot programmers/managers, why are you blaming C++?

Sounds like a nice theory, does it have a name?
A woman who is at a lesbian bar is probably a lesbian.
You've obvious not heard the same stories as me about lesbians pissing in nightclub urinals.
When the titans clash, a bit of GooTube is a good thing.
Tell me then; how do they make a O(1) FIFO queue out of the associative array?
No, not really interested in the answer, as I'm just pointing out that the code suddenly becomes (unnecessarily) much more complicated.
If one of your limbs are ever cut off cleanly, please do remember what you said in the above post.

I just checked this picture, and I don't feel sorry at all.
Perhaps we should sentence him to death too? Though, I'm slightly more realistic, I know it won't bring back any dead people.
Since when aren't 'nerds' interested in politics?
/. would be a nice place to get some insightful comments, assuming the moderators are doing their job.
Seems to me
Neither is an element; but that really depends on what kind of elementary elements our grammatical elements refer to in this particular context.
Didn't you get the memo sent out at the beginning of the previous century?
There are no laws of nature, so your analogy fails.
Uhm, he's still claiming to be the oldest guild in the _world_. You do know there's a world outside of WoW?
It's called MUD.
Yeah, if you only care about money then it was wasted. You should have gotten an MBA and stuffed your nose up someone's ass.
Me, I don't really care about how much I make as long as I can do what I love and have enough to live on.

I demand we put all good programmers under strict observation 24/7, they're obviously all killers just waiting for the oppertunity to strike.
That would be million, not billion, thinko.

Update to what, did something happen? I clicked the link but I can't remember anything.
So this is in fact merely a one-dupe exploit?
