Moniker (my registrar of choice) allowed users to delete and get refunded (minus a very small fee) domains right from the control panel. I used this myself a couple of times in the past 4 years. One was a typo and another one was a client that had second thoughts about a domain I registered for his company.
My website hosted at Dreamhost has been down like 35% of the time since last week. Dreamhost oversells their servers like no other hosting company around I think.
The homebrew scene is still very much alive though.I havent kept up with the news site lately since I started a new job and slashdot is enough of a time waster, but I believe there's still new custom firmware coming out for the PSP. I bought mine around 2 months ago, immediately downgraded it and have been using the hell out of it.I have a ton of SNES,NES and GB roms on it and some movies on my 4gb memory stick I'd like to get a PSP slim for the TV out but I'm not sure how the homebrew scene is coming along with it.
Why hasnt apple put AM/FM/XM/whatever radio capabilities in the iPods. I still listen to radio ocasionally when I want to listen to something different.
I am in Venezuela and there is already a block of TWO anti-government websites (radionexx and caracasradiotv). Also megaresistencia and noticierodigital are being DDOSd. Remember the Chavez just nationalized the telecom company (CANTV) that controls most of the international links in Venezuela and placed the directors himself. He already closed a TV station for political reasons. He wouldnt have any problem ordering that "inadequate" websites are also blocked.
Oh Im perfectly clear on that.Globovision is the only TV station that is showing the student protests right now.The government doesnt want this. I didnt agree with the blackout back in 2002 (I was there by the way and saw my fellow protesters get shot).I dont agree with it now.You should see how the National Guard sorrounded us military style on monday with their water truck and the new tear gas (those reaaaally hurt btw!).
The newly nationalized telecom company CANTV, is already blocking access to two strong government opposing sites that have an online radio show (radionexx and caracasradiotv). Users of ABA (CANTVs broadband service) are being redirected to google and the red cross site. Meanwhile, only ONE TV station is showing the student protest because all the government owned and government compliant TV stations are staying out of it. And then the Chavez supporters have the nerve to criticize the April 11 media blackout...
Piracy here is so rampant that you cannot walk a block in the city center without finding a street vendor openly selling movies, music and software. Once they make enough money they can just get a small shop in one of the malls. Hell, one of the biggest piracy centers in the country has to be the oldest university. They have a huge corridor filled with almost every single software, movie or music you can think of.Movies for the low price of $2.32. Full DVD copy, menus, cover and all.
You like their control panel?? I hate that slow, clunky thing with all my heart.I liked their previous one much better. And coupled with all the Godaddy horror stories Ive been hearing lately, its making my decision to transfer my 50+ domains to namecheap and moniker (never keep all your eggs in one basket).
There have been many accounts of whois searches being spied on by godaddy and many other registrars. If you do not purchase the domain immediately some company will register it and offer to sell it to you at 10 times the normal price.
Highly unethical but it is happening.A lot. I guess the best bet is using services like dnsstuff.com or doing it yourself through the command line.
Also, I was trying to find how far he would have to swim and found this site where I found theres a town called Oslo in the USA and also found that he would have to swim 683 miles (5927 km) (3200 nautical miles) from Oslo to New York (they didn`t have any norwegian coastal towns available for search).
You are my hero now..thank you. Do you know if Proxomitron is still being developed? As far as I know the original developer abandoned it.Is it open source now or something?
Use proxomitron...
on
Opera 8 Released
·
· Score: 2, Informative
Use the proxomitron or some other ad blocker and keep using Opera. I find proxomitron works much better than Adblock even though it looks like it`s not being developed anymore sadly. There are plenty of alternatives though. Now the only feature I would like to see in Opera is the Flash click to play thingy like firefox has.
yep, Jimmy Carter was there when the guy from the Electoral Council (controlled by the government) used his "magic" random number generator to "randomly" choose the boxes to be audited and he was also there for the audit which of course went without a hitch...
Makes you wonder what the hell was going on between the Government and ol` Jimmy...
The voting machines here for the presidential referendum produced a paper trail.Suddenly when there was a doubt of the transparenncy of the whole process (because the voting machines were black boxes, noone knew what the code on them did) the government refused to count the papers from each machine.
Instead, they performed an "audit" where a member of the national electoral council on TV announced that a certain number of boxes would be chosen at random...by another computer running who knows what code on it and after the program was done "generating" the number of the boxes to be audited he proceeded to open a Word document with the numbers on it.
Of course, when the audit was done nothing was found amiss.
Apparently it`s much better to use huge amounts of money to create more efficient ways of killing other humans, thus getting them to hate your guts than it is to use that money to help humanity.
Like the guy in the article says : "I think," he said, "we need to get off this planet, because I'm afraid we're going to destroy it."
I know its a bit late to answer to your comment and you might miss it but here goes anyway:
I too thought the attacks on the WTC were barbaric.Im sorry if my post came across as supporting something so horrible and its certainly not a call to violence. But you have to understand that your government is very quickly making your country target for any kind of disgruntled fanatics that are willing to blow themselves up.The U.S government cannot keep trampling on other countries rights (and on their own countrymens for that matter) or the simple fact of the matter is that things are gonna get worse for the U.S very quickly worldwide.
I dont know what my nationality has to do with anything. You must think Im some kind of pro-chavez,anti-us nut. Nothing farther from the truth,Ive been fighting to get this psycho out of the presidency of my country for 4 years now.
When did the US buy space? I must have missed the news...
Then americans wonder why most of the world is so pissed off at you as to be willing to crash a couple of planes in to some towers.
If the U.S government doesn`t start realizing that the world (and space now) is not their personal playground,9/11 is gonna look very small compared to what might come next.
I`m an Opera user and have tried switching to firefox but it just still doesn`t feel complete. Just the fact that a simple upgrade will break all previously installed extensions is annoying...

Very handy.Moniker rocks.
Key Roll of Duct Tape or Key Role?
I guess both are valid...

Yes,because being a monopolist is the same as being a murderer.
Oh, wait its not.
Dumbass.

That's just great....I had mine removed last week.

Wish we had that here in Venezuela las august.

Transparent indeed...
102 posts and no "kodak moment" jokes??
Jeez...it must be really late at night in badjoke land.

...that episode where the US military is certain they found saddam building WMD`s in heaven...maybe some high commander was watching this too?
