Funny how the 'free-unregulated-markets-will-solve-all-the-world's-problems' and 'keep-govt-off-business'-backs' pols freaked out and leaned on Amazon.
I saw it when it was called "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow" (I know, the film actually did get picked up and finished by a studio, but it started out as a homegrown short)
I've loved the night sky since I was a kid and growing up in rural NC, I could, and still can, see the Milky Way, observe nebula, etc..
However, I spent a night in the Moroccan desert and was just slobberknockered at the sky. Likewise, I camped in the Peruvian Andes and the clarity and seeing the southern hemisphere stars for the first time was just mind warping.
LUST IN SPACE! I thought the Russians should have turned MIR into a floating porn studio. Imagine all the incredible angles available in zero-g and the Russians moaning "Dah! Dah!"
In 2000, a conservative Supreme Court ordered the state of Florida to stop counting votes. (say that again.. stop counting votes). Had the recount been allowed to continue, Gore would have been president.
The 2004 election was riddle with fraud from illegal voter disenfranchisement to rigged, black box, electronic voting.
I second (or 3rd, 4th, 5th) the Orion X10. I've had this scope for 5 years now and I love it. Small enough to move easily. Powerful enough to keep me interested.
I would also have to recommend getting a good pair of binoculars first. See how many nights, how many hours, you actually spend outside looking at the sky, then judge how much you are willing to spend.
What you don't want to do is to look at THESE (cause your astro-tech lust will explode off the meter and your life as you know it will come to an end)
Hey asshead..I was in DC on January 27, 2007. Those hundreds of thousands of people marching around the capitol represent the MAJORITY of Americans who OPPOSE THE IRAQ WAR.
Dude, there are tens of thousands of blacksmiths alive and well in the United States, not to mention the rest of the world, making tools, functional pieces, and VERY expensive art. Blacksmithing classes fill up fast.
