I've never understood the complaints about fridays. I mean as a parent of a 2 yr old and a 8 month old Friday evenings are no different except I might stay up a bit later because I can sleep in until 7:30 or 8:00 in the morning before my kids wake us both up.
There's nothing on Fridays except for Third Watch. Everything else is worthless in my opinion, I hate 'reality' television and I'm glad to see something will be on Friday as we move forward.
Farscape did well on Fridays, Firefly didn't do well not because of the time slot, but because of the out of order playing & the lack of network support. I've been watching the DVDs and keep wonder what the hell were they thinking cancelling that. Great story/character development, and I wasn't an Angel/Buffy fan either.
Oh well, I for one shall TiVo it every week just like I have been. Now they can be on one TiVo so now I can watch it th day it was aired so that my two TiVo's aren't competeing and trying to figure out the Smallville/That 70's Show/ST: Ent conflict.
What, you read the first part where I dissed the 'hiding' tech and failed to note my sarcasm comment at the end?
All they have to do is 'think of the children' or 'it's terrorism' and the new 'patriotism' will mean you are an islam fundy terrorist if you don't go along.
Good?? Hey let's invent technology that makes copyright infringement easier, proving that the RIAA was right all along and p2p technologies are all about theft of services!
Come on. It's one thing to try and claim that p2p is being 'abused' by the users but when you develop something to hide where the data is coming from you're doing it to hide illegal activity.
Not only will this slow RIAA and MPAA down, but it can slow FBI, CIA, local law enforcement to stop child pornography, or other things like those terrorists that use computers from caves (sarcasm on that last one, I really don't think the morons in caves use computers that much)
after my daughter watches toy story 2 for about the 5th time the week I still find it funny. To me the only thing non-adult is the fact that it's animated. Even is that is arguable as far as kid vs. adult in animation.
It's in a cabinet, she figured out how to open it. Short of padlocking it, it's hard to keep her out of it.
DVDs are on a shelf, she scaled the shelf to get her movie show (as she calls them) pried open the box, manged to get the DVD out in the space of about 5 minutes as I went to the bathroom
Apparently she didn't approve of my choice of watching 'Mr. Brown' (AKA, Good Eats) and decided to change things.
While I'm all for spanking when needed, I have a certain degree of not wanting to be the ogre I remember my father as, but also wanting her to do things on her own. It's a tough line to walk and one day you'll enjoy it.
Especially when a simple swat after they run into traffic can get you arrested & your children taken away. Freakin insane. At least here in NC if you spank a kid with your hand you're ok, but if you use any item (belt, etc) it's abuse.
Rip with VBR --r3mix -b112 with lame or your favorite encoder.
Play on whatever you want.
And the 'compression' argument doesn't hold water unless you have a $10k set of speakers to listen to it on powered by a McIntosh analog amp. And if you have that you're just a cheap a$$ bastard for not buying the music.;)
I burn all sorts of CDs and listen to them in my cars, my stereo, etc. I can't tell the difference between it and my lossless compressed burns when they are side by side. Granted I've not paid for a song I have and tried it but if you decompress a 128k AAC and a flac compressed one and play them on the same stereo they sound no different
Good night you could at least read one link

I mean it's there in all it's table glory. Yes the craptacular show Unscrewed is on.
I can't believe that one made it really. I mean I tried to watch it but it's like watching an edited for TV porno. A bunch of nudge nudge wink wink crap but nothing serious. I mean this IS pay cable and such and it is scheduled here out east at 11PM EST/EDT so it's not like every kid is up late.
I just despise shows that try to get by on craploads of innuendo.
Maybe it changed but I could only make it through about the first five episodes, if that. Martin was like pulling teeth some days. However he was funny all at once. I swear one time Gary Coleman was going to come over the table and choke the life out of him when they hosted an episode of TSS. Some funny stuff.
I don't mind using either C or F, but since most of the US is fairly temperate, it's not often that it gets to freezing. Houston typically stays in the 20C-35C range. People don't like using decimals when talking about the weather, and sticking with F lets them do that.
You never lived in Kansas then did you?:) 105 in the summer, -50 wind chill in the winter. not that temperate:)
What gets me about not using the centigrade measurement system is that it makes so much more sense. Where 0 = where water freezes. Vs. Degrees F = where a half mixture of salt and water freezes.
Is it the American thing where 'bigger is better' or what? That's what always confused me on why we don't adopt the metric system. Base 10 is so natural to use, not this base 12, no, base 3, no, base 5280, no, fractions baby! Is it a math teacher conspiracy or what?
I dropped out of college to stop my brain from exploding when I went from a physics class that was full metric to an aerospace engineering course that was all 'english' measurement. When a prof or whatever popped up and said something about a 'slug' being an measurement of atmospheric pressure I thought I was going to die.
The William Huong kid is a perfect example of this. I don't know what label he used (I refused to buy it, my head about shattered when I heard it on the radio) but he was an instant, overnight sensation.
or maybe someone like those insane Quizno's Sponge Monkeys comes along and next thing you know 70,000 people pay $0.99 to some no one with no record deal. Though again head explode / knee jerk reaction to turn off TV when they came on but to each their own.
Neat thing about the change from 10 to 7 and 3 to 5 is unless you install iTunes 4.5 it don't work.
iTunes 4.2 didn't magically stop letting you burn 10 at a time. It's not like the next time you hit the iTMS it'll encrypt your entire library either. And the iTMS didn't magically quit working until you went to 4.5.
Maybe on windows, but on Mac OS X before anything major gets written to my hard drive I have to enter a password for it to execute. Now granted some folks must just enter the password without thinking but when it pops up on me I make sure I'm doing something I want it too...
Well Screen Savers is going to suck without Leo or Patrick. Unless they hire Wil Wheaton. He sure made for entertaining shows when he hosted it. I really watched the show religiously until it cut back to the hour format and 'dumbed down'. Now I hardly ever watch it.
Fresh Gear went downhill after Sumi Das left, and adding Morgan to X-Play (and changing the name/format for that matter) really destroyed the show into a bunch of lame goofy crap instead of a good solid game review show. My income increased because I quit buying games after they changed formats because the reviews were so lame.
I've tried hard to watch G4 but it's like watching my little brother play on his play station and be stuck and running in circles. Absolutely no fun and downright annoying that he won't give up and let someone else have a turn. Never thought I'd say something like again that at 32 years of age. heh.
They're both listed as 'free' at the moment. Trying to walk my wife through downloading them onto my Powerbook via AIM now because I don't want to download it to my work laptop
According to a lot of posts on Macrumors.com and other Mac news sites there were a lot of posts from people in the *huge* markets like New York, LA, San Fran, etc who were posting that they never found a bottle with the promotion on it.
Personally in Raleigh, NC I never saw a 'iTunes' bottle but then again I don't drink a lot of soft drinks anyway.
Good night. Special effects weren't what made the shows suck, it was the insanely confusing plots that seemed to change weekly.
I couldn't sit through Mutant X, and Andromeda seems like they're on drugs every week. I can sit through Buck Rogers reruns without puking too much. Though the wife sure looks at me weird wondering why on earth I'm watching those.
Andromeda had a good run for maybe season one, and then some of two, then it went nutso and suddenly Dylan was a peon captain getting pushed around but seemingly on crack government people and all these new 'collectors' and what not showed up that no one mentioned the first two seasons.
Which is unfortunate because it was a decent show originally.
Actually in my case the value to me is not having to listen to a local idiot who thinks he's the next best howard stern telling people to mow down bicyclists or something just as stupid (G105 in Raleigh, NC) and they have music selections that I like (older alternative & 80s 'alternative' or whatever you want to call it)
I'm happily paying $9.95 a month so I don't have to listen to commercials.
All of XM's music stations have no commercials. While the 'talk' stations do. It's kinda funny the commercials mainly on the XM Talk channels are 'spam' like such as life insurance, weight loss, and tax free living.

Try This
Unfortunately they've got a problem with the pricing, only $27,000.
er, Can't make backups that is. CAN'T. dang that keyboard
Sell DVDs with tons of kids movies, said kids destroy DVDs and scream at their parents until they buy it again.
At least that is how my 2 yr old viewed it when she 'put the movie in' between the DVD player and the TiVo and scratched up Finding Nemo.
Good night she can whine more than a slashdot user that doesn't RTFA... so we have two copies of Nemo because I can legitimately back the thing up
This argument needs to go to sleep and fast.
;)
Burn protected AAC to CD Media.
Rip with VBR --r3mix -b112 with lame or your favorite encoder.
Play on whatever you want.

To be honest I watch so little of G4 that I had no idea he was ever on the show. Thanks for the link, really interesting.

HS40 announced February 2004. plus for high perf computing (in this instance) 4-way price/perf not economical. All 2-ways.
HS20, depending on when they bought from 2.6GHz/400MHz, 2.6Ghz/533Mhz to 2.8GHz/533Mhz I think. best price/perf model at the time they needed hardware
It was the IBM eServer BladeCenter
There are a number of scripts under the links for linux, mac os x, etc so that you could fully automate this.
They're both listed as 'free' at the moment. Trying to walk my wife through downloading them onto my Powerbook via AIM now because I don't want to download it to my work laptop
