I wore my "Chicks dig Unix" shirt to the mall one day.... All I got were weird stares from male and femail, and some disgusted looks from some old folks that probably didn't know what UNIX was...:)
until a bug in the 2.5.2 series prevented me from using my swapspace. Everything else worked perfectly though. I'm back to 2.4 until sometime in the near future...
Damn ya beat me too it.:) Hmm.. I *could* strip search bill gates:
"What do you mean you're missing your wallet? I never saw it. Please move along sir, I see some booth bunni... err i mean Booth Attendents coming this way. They get priority."
I've got a digital alpha xl-266 that i'll sell to someone...:) 64 megs ram, 2 1-gig scsi drives, an offical 'digital' keyboard to go with if you'd like. email me
I saw a demo of this type of technology here in washington state about 2-2.5 years ago. The demo was done by Washington Water Power. It had a smallish fuel cell, that lit up a small light bulb, and the only by-product was pure water.
Is it possible to make a small enough one to power a Palm Pilot (given time for the technology to advance enough)? How much hydrogen is there floating around here in the air that we breathe?

Just heard on NPR that Canada has closed the borders for a while, not sure for how long.
Ya know, sometimes I hate the people in this country. I was just out at a client's place earlier today, and they hadn't heard of the bombing. I told them what was going on, and they turned on the TV for a few minutes, then kinda lost interest. I got the impression they didn't care because nothing exciting was occuring here (rural northeast washington state). I'm almost getting sick to my stomach just sitting here thinking about all the death and destruction.
Exactly.. Everyone's worried about code red, when sircam is sending personal documents all over the place.. makes me wonder what OTHER viruses are out there doing evil things that no one has noticed yet...
Does it matter if they're allowed to do that?? I mean, its the US Gov't.. they fear the unknown. (aka PGP email to your mother)
Isn't that why the NSA was created? to snoop on communications?

nevertheless, it didn't nab me a girl.. *sigh*
And I wondered why my antivirus program said a few weeks ago that Morpheus.exe was a suspicious file...
It WAS on the 'freakin paranoid' setting..

The Columbia river in Washington runs North, East, West AND South. Depending of course on which part of the river you look at.

"of course we needed to visit all these pr0n sites! that's where 70% of all the images on the web are!"
the first rule, of course, if you're going to be playing online, is bandwidth.

www.earthcam.com is a good one also, although it seems to be slashdotted or something. It has webcams pointing various places in NYC.
