facebooks chat has xmpp frontend so you can connect xmpp chat programs like pidgin to you facebook account unfortunately there is no talking out side of the facebook network with it.
i currently use imo i don't particularly care for it but it seems to be the best free chat app for android that i have tried the rest seemed to be a constant stream of crap or facebook only. I really wish pidgin would release a android app.
What did you expect from joe he is a former politician of course he mind is a bit limited its the sad after affect of the lobotomy you get from gaining a elected/high level bureaucratic office.
this is the logical next step, to be honest i am surprised thatt hey have not simply moved to a onions site and have proxy site for their normal domain sort of like onion.to is. the only problem is that it is hard for you average user to navigate between and discover tor hidden service pages. Tor really needs a distributed dns services. But this may lead to a situation where it would be easy to find the sites real ip addresses; if someone with more in depth knowledge of the tor routing protocols and hidden-service configuration would be so good as to enlighten us i would be most appreciative.
If that where only so, unfortunately the catholic church tells many of those people that they will burn in hell for all eternity if they so much as use a rubber or take a pill. It is quiet easy in the US at least to come buy free condoms, my college campus makes a habit of giving them away by the handfull. Many clinics give them away and who is so hard up that they cant pay 75 cents for one out of a vending machine at the nearest truck stop bathroom. The only people poor enough not to be able to get them also would refuse to use them because some wrinkled old monk in Rome says so.
i think it is still there also there are a lot more places to use bit coins just go look through the hidden wiki some time oh and you can order pizza with them
he is building a space going infrastructure that will pave the way for all sorts of industry for example space mining so we can quit polluting and ravaging the earth for all of our minerals you are think very small picture (postage stamp) he is thinking big picture (sistine chapel). while it is bad for the environment on a small scale it will pave the way for a much more green future, think of all of the pollution from the manufacturing all the needed parts of solar cells a few years ago. as things go we will get better more green tech but we need to start work on it now and its messy but it will get better as we go.
old is a moving target there is currently much faster old hardware. There reaches a point where something gets old enough that you should upgrade. ten years old for a router of that type is passed from old to ancient. remember just because the they aren't actively supporting it does not mean you can not compile and backport features yourself if it is that important to you otherwise just download the older version.
Lock up the firearm, or store it in a place unreachable by children.
There is no place unreachable by a child over about 5 years old. And locks? Your kids live with you, they'll know where the keys are. Combinations? Odds are they'll figure those out too. These are good measures to take, but hardly fool proof.
Teach any children that you have that firearms are not toys and should never be touched unless handed to them by you.
You mean my daughter and son would stop fighting if I just taught them that it was wrong and that they must respect each other. I've only been doing that for a decade and they still get into fights, so while its definitely the right approach, its hardly responsible parenting to assume your guns won't ever be misused simply because you taught your kids not to touch them.
Be a responsible gun owner and it will prevent more accidental shootings than this ever will.
So why isn't a fingerprint safety not just another part of being a responsible gun owner in a home with kids?
Plus if I already have the guns locked up and out of reach, I've already accepted that they will be much less accessible in the canonical "home invasion self defense" scenario... If accepting that is a part of responsible gun ownership why exactly is a secondary safety so objectionable to you?
I and my sister fought all of the time when we were younger and we both knew where the guns ammo and keys to the gun locks were and we never even threatened each other with such a thing. But we were taught what guns would do. My father took us both out to the gun range and had us put a pumpkin or watermelon out down range he would them fire one shot at it then tell us to go put it back together. We of course responded that it was impossible. He then told us that is what happens when you shoot someone. He would then teach us how to use a gun and proper safety practices with the guns. Firearm education is the answer. Of course the people you are teaching also need to have some respect for human life, if they don't the are mentally unfit and should not be allowed near guns by reason of mental defect. And if you have a child with said mental defect you should keep your gun locked in a gunsafe with a combination lock and not alow them in the room when you unlock the gunsafe so that they will not be able to access the guns thus avoiding the lanza style tragedy.
so if they are at home whats to prevent them flashing the guns chip, or simply using another means of committing suicide. suicide is a form of killing that is independent of the means used to achieve it.
That will probably be fixed with when laser sintering printer are made easily available like a reprap is now. Then you will be able to print random metal bits which is a much more appealing option. Also your average person knows nothing about the existing 3d printers. I showed a non geek friend of mine the site for the makerbot and reprap after I told her I was think about building a 3d printer. She thought that it was amazing literally comparing to magic, (ironically her first though was was oh no someone could make a gun with that which had been discussed here on slashdot because people had done just that) maybe we will soon reach the point were our own technology appears to be magic to our own people. Scientists will be diviners, and Maker conjurers, and Hackers will be wizard. Hell computers are already magical black boxes to most of my friends.
Goliath (Hollywood) is simply worried that David (indie) may create a slingshot.
Actually it was a sling with which David killed Goliath (well actually David knocked him out then cut Goliaths head with his own sword.) not a slingshot. The sling is a weapon thats been around since the paleolithic era, the slingshot has been around since about the mid 1800's.
Yes I drive one of those most every day on my way home with a speed limit of 75 mph for regular traffic and 65 for large trucks, to pass the trucks you end up going about 80 so I would find this app highly irritating. Hell I drive on a highway with a speed limit of 80 every so often when I am visiting relatives a few states over, as for rough breaking if I am breaking roughly there is usually a reason like the jack@55 that decides slam on his break with no warning ahead of me or when an elk/deer run out on the road. Not a time when you need another distraction.
snips? and here i was thinking thermite was the answer to all data destruction needs. i havealso thought about building a emp device i have the designs for one somewhere, that should work to.
I don't know about that. How much of today's culture is really worth preserving anyway? Perhaps people of the future will hate today's pirates for cursing them with a library of reality television, lady gaga, etc...
Nah. When I look at list of most torrented shows its stuff like game of thrones , big bang theory, fringe, how i met your mother, walking dead, shows that express our culture not necessarily what the networks push. The reason there are so many "reality" tv shows is they are cheap to produce so the networks make tons realizing that while they wont get as may people watching it does not matter because they don't have to make as much money to pay for more. But when it comes to pirated television the wheat is sifted from the chafe much more easily as people torrent what they want to see, not what the networks want them to see. when it comes to music though most people unfortunately have no taste or those that do simply stream or buy their music rather than pirate it, leading to the exact opposite happening to music where the good quality music is lost in a sea of gaga and beiber.
that corporations denied us access to our culture.
You might see music as a "product", but it's been a cultural output since the beginning of time.
When I ran the anti-corrupt CD campaign for the UK Campaign for Digital Right (now defunct), the group with the most interesting complaint were the archivists. They have the responsibility to archive our culture for future generations. All the DRM and physical protections and ill-conceived laws make their job increasingly difficult. If corporations have their way, maybe in 1000 years this will indeed be seen as a Dark Age because nothing readable/accessible of our corporate-sponsored culture survived. Just cat videos.
No in a thousand years our descendants will be thanking the pirates that broke the drm and shared content with the world in easily format shift-able way. todays pirates and drm hackers will be looked at the same way we look at the monks that devoted their lives to copying the greek manuscripts, or as Gutenberg for making that information accessible to the public.
/sarcasm. Right, the universe just spontaneous came into existence.
From the Laws of Thermal Dynamics we know energy can not be created nor destroyed. Einstein showed us all Matter is Energy. Therefore the Universe has ALWAYS existed in one form or another. Q.E.D.
you are forgetting zero point energy where a negative and a positive particle spontaniously (for lack of a better word) spawn and then annihilate each other leaving the balance at zero. this does not violate thermodynamics as the balance is maintained. Is it possible that the universe is nothing more than a very large zero point even where the antimatter will eventually annihilator all the matter?
GCC may not be patches that often but you OS is. Java is not just a language it is a VM that the compiled Java code runs in, a jit compiler that compiles the Java code, a language and a web plug-in. all collectively referred to as Java. Javas big problem is it is used in unsafe ways (via web plug-in). the main security problem is that the Java web plug in grabs arbitrary code and runs it in the same vm as Java app's and it can be abused to take control. You would never run a just any random binary you found on the Internet but you do anytime a page has Java on it.
American news companies broadcasting primarily on American channels SHOULD give higher precedence to US news. Because people care most about what's going on in their own country. There is nothing wrong with that.
So it took about 5 minutes to give all of the known information play it at the top of the hour and then tell some more news. just because it happened here did not mean they needed to stop all other reporting

I think he was referencing The Doctor and his first companion/granddaughter Susan; not Death of the discworld and his granddaughter also named Susan.

no you use this tech to put missiles in orbit so virgin galactic can nuke Somalia from space.

the supply will increase and the price will drop when copying becomes more mainstream do to demand.

Makes me wonder what your reply might have been if I had said...
Goliath (Hollywood) is simply worried that David (indie) may create an RPG.
i would wondered why the MPAA would care about a role playing game.

but the gangs will get the guns anyway, hell they are a large part of the black market already.

if you change you age to under 12 facebook nukes you account from orbit or so i am given to understand.
