    Yes you would need those if people where awake for the trip, but that is why specifically made mention of using cryogenics, (hey if we are accepting space travel at even meaningful fraction of C then cryogenics is on the table too) if you are frozen your not going to be caring about being in the dark, what air would be needed could be stored or instead of using plants you could use algae farms which could be kept frozen for most of the trip and activated on arrival. The algae could also be used as a food for the hypothetical interstellar travelers. so that cuts down of fuel significant.

    My mother used to work as a home health aid, she said that she worked with an older couple where the senile husband would demand pills from his wife; rather than argue or tell him no the wife would hand him is ww pills that came in red blue yellow brown and green, she told him that they were candy coated to hide the bad flavor and that he would need to swallow them quickly. It worked every time

    As I understand thermodynamics once up to speed you don't slow down in space there being little to no resistance, so once you reach cruising speed you simply need fuel for maneuvering and stopping. Now the life support and on board systems would also need fuel, but much of that could be minimized if we perfect cryogenics, once your frozen it doesn't matter how cold you get.

    I do have to admit that visual studio is great but unfortunately it won't run on wine so I use something else, I wish i could find open source ide that has all of its features like built in gui designer.

    Yet my high school taught automotive repair, welding, had several after/before normal classes farm related courses small engine repair and more. But when it came to computer science they had "graphic design" read coral draw/photshop and "computers" which translated to Mavis Beacon teaches typing and introduction to Microsoft office. Real computer science needs to be taught in our schools not "click the big blue capital W to write, and the big green capital E to make a chart, and big blue lower case e to browse the inter-webs of the world wide net"

    although I do have to give them credit they had an excellent biology program including a course in molecular genetics.

    why the programmer why not the general who commands them if you punish the programmer what about the engineer who designed the 'bot's or the manufacturer. This would be the same as a gun you don't sue winchester for shootings you prosecute the shooter.

    the non removable facebook app on my android tablet is simply a shortcut to the mobile version of their web site so the spying is done on their servers not my device at least.

    except the one that reports back to the Kremlin will be the one released, the other one will be for internal use thus not subject to gpl copy left, secondly very little of android is copyleft most is apache licensed, so they don't have to give much back anyway. And as for the rushian government respecting US copyright law when has that ever stopped them before, they have hundereds of piracy sites hosted there, and since when has it been safe to run anything downloaded from rushia? all in all this is not going to affect android in the slightest for any one else.

    I don't trust Microsoft and I don't trust Apple, I have a bit of trust for Google though. Google though has not acted in anticompetitive fashion they have used their patents only defensively. Google gives away the source code for their operating system so if you don't trust them you can read through the source code and compile and modify, or pay someone else to. Lets see Microsoft or Apple* do that.

    *no darwin does not count because google givesaway the whole system where apple only years ago gave away pieces. Oh and when are we going to see the arm port?

    because if someone smart comes along they will simply make a variable frequency charging pad and you will no longer be able to make money of of your one device charger. unless the manage to create a device that uses a ever-changing frequency to charge that shares the information with the charger receiving the frequency changes over an encrypted protocol but that would be a pain in the ass to engineer and probably cost a shit-ton to produce at that size.

    no we have our own uranium we simply aren't mining or refining it, and we have enough nukes in place already to blow up the world a half dozen times or so. And do you really think that the US cares about anyone saying no nukes unless it is say china or rushia? and they are in the same place we are nuke wise they ignore everyone else. and the status quo stays the same. the only change is more bureaucracy.
