I really don't think this can be used for mobile nodes. Power consumption issues with OFDM might relegate this technology for use only with fixed nodes. I don't think we will have a usable laptop adapter for this technology. I have experience using a 802.11a adapter on my laptop and it sucked the life out of my laptop's battery at express speed.
Hmm. I did not think of it this way. Maybe you are right. Since they dragged their feet on supporting the iPod on Windows(which had similar justification) I have a feeling they may not like this either.
I do my research all right. I am a shareholder in AAPL. You are the guy with the bad attitude and wrong assumptions. Do you even know the difference between revenue and profit. More revenue does not necessarily mean more profits. Do you mean that these guys are wrong and you are right. If you have any solid numbers with a source for profits please feel free to post them
It is about time. If there is no competition Apple would get comfy with the 99c price and even increase it soon. Knowing that the artist is getting only 6-8c per song, I would say this has the potential to cause a price war. Since the only division of Apple making any serious money is iPod/iTunes, I do not think Apple will play nice.

It is because all people are equal. Cliche aside these people cannot read but they CAN SEE AND LISTEN. They go to meetings, candidates come by to see them and tell them what he/she would do if he/she was elected. They know what a party did when it was in government...

At last somebody understood people wanted to type on their PDAs instead of learning how to use Graffiti or a soft keyboard. I have a Sony PictureBook and I love it. This is going to rock.
Do you know what is the difference between evolution and revolution? My first hard disk could store 20MB of data. My new one does 250GB. That does not mean anything new has happened. Just because you throw up a large number (10^15 , should actually be 2^50 ) does not mean that anything new is being ivented here. You can have your views, I can have mine. I never called you ignorant ( though you are). Be civil.
I think MS has effectively killed IE since there will be more people with IE unsupported legacy MS operating systems than people with the brand new MSOSWITHIE and they will start moving to an alternative. Hope that alternative will be Mozilla
Long live the king. Since Microsoft officially killed IE, we can expect mozilla to be the new king. Hope it becomes as hassle free for casual use as IE used to be for the n00b.
My ericsson cell phone had profiles for home, work, meeting driving etc. for as long as I can remember. This is an obvious improvement for someone trained in the trade and hence not patentable. Something has to be innovative AND NON-OBVIOUS to be patentable.
People in asia have NAT boxes too. That will keep them connected for a while, before the world moves to IPv6(if?). For phones and toasters with IPv6 addresses they can tunnel over IPv4 as I do today with my IPv6 network at home.
It has been 20 years. Lets try to get it fixed. DNS configuration and operation is something even geeks try to avoid. It is easy to get wrong (who has setup their DNS server right the first time around?), hard to fix, insecure... It has done a great service but time is almost up.
In a "third world" poor country like India (where I am from) , one recently held state election was conducted entirely using electronic voting machines. I do not see what is stopping the US from having electonic voting (maybe kickbacks from the paper companies !!)

I do agree with you on the margins on iTunes being low. But the RIAA would have to cut its bloated share of the pie soon enough.

Dude,
It cannot be. If the guy/gal is smart enough to write 2 lines of C code he/she cannot be republican.

I had the fun of voting for 1 of 130 candidates in a state election using a paper ballot. Was more fun ;-).

Been there. Done that. Nothing more to prove.

Ransom Love. Nice man to work for SCO ;-)
On a related note Microsoft/IBM/HP announced plans to activate the self destruct feature in the older computers/software without DRM.
What about the moon landing scene shot in Nevada?

I would love to let my camera phone spend money at the Blackjack tables in Vegas. It can count better than me. Would the casinos mind, naah.
If you push too hard for publishing source code, this box will be running Cisco IOS soon, slowing down the box 4 fold.
