The Plex client that was forked from XBMC is still open source. But the Plex Media Server back end is closed. And the devs seem to be concentrating most of their efforts right now on the media server.
They also seem to be doing everything they can to give as little as possible back to XBMC. I don't know if that's due to bad blood from their split two years ago. Or because they want to turn Plex into a business.

I was merely pointing out an alternative. Personally, I don't understand the animosity between the Plex and XBMC teams but I think users should support both projects.
I use Plex myself and I'm very happy with it.
Maybe teaching, project management, auditing, I don't know for sure yet.
I completely understand that some of the problems like bad management and lack of people are things you have to deal with in any job. But, I really hope I can find a better work/life balance. Hell, I hope I can find any work/life balance.
I'm also not a woman and I'm definitely planning on moving on and leaving IT after 10 years. Very long hours, unrealistic deadlines, lack of resources, bad management, and the 24/7 grind have completely sapped the enthusiasm I once had.
I'll always be very interested in technology, but as far as my career goes, it's just not worth it anymore.
I'm probably in the minority, but I bought an Apple TV for my own content. I'm in the process now of ripping and converting my HD-DVD's and DVD's to a higher quality H264/AAC Apple TV friendly format.
Yes, the current iTunes content looks like shit on my 52 inch Samsung DLP and I'd love it if Apple sold 720p movies and TV shows. But, I'm not holding my breath.

Mac users should also look at Plex. It's a very nice fork by the former XMBC for Mac/OSXBMC team.
The Witcher Enchanced Edition on Stardock Impulse will be DRM free. I believe the release date is this coming Tuesday.
