Why not release the code under the BSD license? That way the code would still be available to anybody that wants to use it, and you would receive credit for your work as well.
For city driving the TDI is great. It's also great on the highway, pretty much the same as any other car, except you'll be getting 45-50 mpg depending on how fast you drive.
My Jetta TDI gets about 45 mpg of diesel, which also costs less than gas. If you want more information on VW diesels go to www.tdiclub.com, they have all the info you could ever want on diesels, and they're a great bunch of guys too.
That's because on unix you can restart a service without restarting the whole machine. Updating ssh will have no effect on other services that are running.

It's not a clone but mcedit is pretty nice. It's included with the mc program which is also a nice file manager.
If I had mod points I'd mod you up. I'm getting tired of the slashdot mentality that everything has to be free. If a company makes a professional grade product, and there is demand for that product, they should be able to be rewarded for their efforts.
I agree. Getting a digital camera to work in linux is a nightmare. First you need to make sure the kernel supports usb, then you have to install gphoto and get hotplug working. Then you have to fart around with permissions on the usb device.
In windows I just plug the camera in the usb port and boom, it shows up as a drive under My Computer.
Yes, and because of unions GM and Ford are constantly losing ground to Toyota and other Japanese companies. Toyota is projected to become the number 1 auto company within a few years.
If fact, most new auto plants being built in the U.S. now are non-union plants. Workers at a plant in Mississippi even voted against unionizing, since they are better off without one.
We do, but they're not really enforced. You buy off a few key senators, or make enough donations to a certain party, and they'll let you off with a slap on the wrist.
Try gnumeric. The last few releases have been rock solid and it is compatible with .xls files.
Actually, yes, there is a standard.
Check out the rainbow series of books. Any operating system or software used by the military must go through a security certification process.
Windows NT is certified at C level security. Some of the features needed for military security are ACL and MACs on the file system level.
This won't work, since passwords are usually stored in an encrypted form.
GM owns part of Kia.

Once yahoo makes an encrypted version of the YIM protocol, they can sue the makers of Trillian for DMCA violations.
Even without the DMCA they may be able to bring a case against them if Yahoo's TOS prohibits 3rd party clients.

Yeah, that 90 seconds to reboot a server is killing me.

Or you could switch to testing/unstable and run the latest stuff.
I run Sarge on my workstation at work and it is rock solid.

Ubisoft has been putting out some really nice military games already. Ghost Recon, Rainbox Six, Splinter Cell, etc.
Hopefully with this deal they'll release an Xbox version of America's Army.
Those drugs take a lot of time and money to research, test, get FDA approval, and market. Thus the reason they cost more.

You could say the same thing about commercial software.
MacOS -> Windows
Mosaic -> Internet Explorer
MP3 -> Windows Media
If Europe wants to see a real abuse of monopoly power, wait until MS just decides to stop offering their products on the European market.
It isn't the government's place to tell a company what they can or cannot sell.
It sucks. Our company tried it for a few weeks and it was just too much of a pain to deal with.
It's much easier to handle support issues through email or over the phone.
We do, but they're not really enforced. You buy off a few key senators, or make enough donations to a certain party, and they'll let you off with a slap on the wrist.
But they're willing to spend thousands of dollars defending themselves against a class action law suit?
Are they willing to eat the loss when somebody steals all those credit card numbers and orders a ton of stuff?
How about no. Once your company has standardized on something, it's a royal pain in the ass to use anything else.
Not any more. McDonalds is phasing out the super size.
Windows media player still locks you into Windows or Apple platforms. Why couldn't they just run an mp3 or ogg stream?
