Once something is posted on usenet it's too late. The guy might be able to get AOL to delete it from their news server, but every other news server in the world is going to pick up on that article.
I work for a web hosting company, www.liquidweb.com, and we actually provide GOOD support.
When you call us you're talking to a bunch of Linux geeks that actually know what we're doing. Whether it's upgrading your server's kernel or fixing Apache issues, we do it all.
Security is a multi level process. No OS in the world will make your server secure if you are using weak passwords, haven't installed any updates, etc.
While it's the the multi-user nature of unix makes locking things down a bit easier, it's also up to the admin of the machine to make things are set up securely, and stay that way.
Instead of bitching about it why don't you help translate some of the apps into Norwegian? I'm sure the KDE and GNOME projects could use a good translator.
I work for Liquid Web and we offer VDS and Dedicated systems. You can check out our plans at http://www.liquidweb.com.
All systems are based on Redhat 9 and include full root access. These systems are great for busier sites that need more cpu/memory than a shared hosting account.

Just forward them that. They can take their email and shove it up their ass.
The Linux community is pretty big. Even if it was some Linux user, who cares? You can't judge every member of a community by the actions of one person.

I have upgraded 2 seperate systems using the bsd.rd kernel and haven't had any issues with it.
God damn it ICANN, you need to take away Verisign's authority over DNS. Every time they change something it's a major pain in the ass for anybody that works in an ISP, web hosting, etc.
he wants to turn Xbox Live, the trash-talking meeting ground of testosterone jazzed gamers, into a kinder, gentler realm reminiscent of Microsoft's other online playground, the Zone.com.
Please don't. The best thing about Xbox Live is that you can get on there and talk trash while fragging people. In fact, that's part of the reason I got Live in the first place.
I don't think the Xbox demographics would like these kind of changes.
All of the above. The story is great, the combat is intense and is quite a rush. Multiplayer is a blast when you get a bunch of people together and start fragging away.

As far as I know Usenet is a global network. AOL cannot possibly control what is posted on there, unless they stop carrying that newsgroup entirely.
If you like movies like that, check out The Day After. That movie gives me chills every time I think about it.

Also check out Tales From the Afternow which is a story with a similar theme.
Corporations take over the government, start the listener license, etc.
A lot of distros include pico, which is pretty simple to use. FreeBSD includes ee with the base installation, which is another easy to use editor.

It's Mac, not MAC.
You also have to consider the level of support you're getting. Good support staff costs money, that's just the way it is.

For most people JPEG is "good enough", so it's not worth the effort to swtich everything to use jpeg2000.
Upgrading from 3.3 to 3.4 is extremely difficult since the binary format went from a.out to elf. It is usually preferable to reformat.
Um, no it isn't.
Boot the bsd.rd kernel, and select the Upgrade option.
