Really, a 10GB install isn't that bad, considering that I can get a weenie 250GB drive for $80, and it doesn't even make a dent in the new 750GB drive.
Laptop users may have a valid whine, with low-end drives at 40GB, mid-range at 80GB or so, but I'd expect that a notebook install wouldn't take that much on a low-end product.
I'm not fond of the Microsoft Vista Ultimate Extreme De Luxe Ultra version that's a complete system-resources orgy that wants a few GB or so of RAM or a UI that makes my Geforce run at a good % of max for a good slice of time et cetera.
On the plus side, MS Vista will be shipping (eventually) with a copy of Duke Nukem Forever.
4-6 hours of gameplay? Great! It rivals HL2 for content! I hope this thing sells for $8.99. or perhaps $9.99 if they include a storyline that was omitted from HL2. HL2 was shockingly short and utterly devoid of a storyline, and attempting to milk me for "expansion packs" for what should have been included in the original release is offensive.
The easy way to defuse the situation before it ever starts is to post the resumes of your company's leadership...then leak a little blurb to the local rag from a payphone...with any luck scandal will engulf your workplace allowing you to do whatever you want.
I quit WoW and bought this a month ago. It is a good game now, far far better than it was when it first came out. They've gotten rid of the stupid penalty for death (although there remains a small XP debt and item decay for dying, which is very WoW like), revised the combat spells and moves, and now they are getting rid of one of the worst starting zones in the MMO genre and streamlining the character creation process, which was a blithering mess.
It's not WoW, but then again, it isn't the pile of garbage it was when it was released. It's come a long way, and it's certainly worth $20 for a look at this sleeper of an MMO.
I never read manuals, but I'd be willing to start if they started putting pictures of naked women in them.
I also use Windows...no manuals needed! Plug and Play! USB! I never buy stuff from companies that don't have an 800 tech support number. Let THEM read the manual to me!

How do we get NY Times out of a British site?

Men can't tell what a woman wants by looking at a picture...or anything else, since women don't know what they want!

Naked human beings in non-sexual settings in a video game.
Oh no. The end of our civilization is near.
And it won't be because of topless toons in some video game.

Why, O WHY should one, on the web, use olden schoole style of reference? Use a link! It's the new standard!

That isn't the paint job. It's a translucent case!
I got one of the first run today.
On the front of the case it has a little sticker that reads, "Windows Vista Ready."
The four remaining subscribers will now have to find something else to do.
In other news, Anarchy Online today announced that it received a glut of new subscribers after the closure of Asheron's Call 2.
812 flaws in the Windows operating system? When did they start counting flaws? December 28th?
Who cares what it costs THEM to make. In a captilistic society, there is a fair amount of profit tolerance built in.
If you can't talerate the cost, don't buy it.
On the other hand, the 3 hours a YEAR it takes me to pay for a new CPU that I use for a year seems pretty darned cheap to me.
"What we need to do is establish a base on the moon."
Because, as you all know, building an orbital station with the collective strengths of many nations has been a roaring success. Oh wait.
LOL...moron.
This...this is how nerds would dress up their women...if only they had women.
And names? If nerds could name their women?
Grepina! The goddess of search!
Has anyone considered the notion of Apple offering BOTH PPC and x86 products?
Gotta love the Waiwai section of that site.
Bring back glide!
The IT "bounceback" will be a real bounceback when hiring takes place in earnest...on our own shores.
And equating Google's share price with an IT "bounceback" leads me to believe that the bursting of the bubble taught some people nothing.
It is clear to me that Mimas is actually the Death Star. I wonder if it fully operational?

They have to regulate fuel/air mixture SINCE WHEN? These things have been controlled by computer for a LONG time.
Idle on the BMW P83 is 4500 R.P.M. which is also CONTROLLED BY COMPUTER. Too cold and die? You REALLY think this?
I mistakenly installed XP on a new box on the unprotected end of my network.
Time for infection? Not two minutes.
FIRST BOOT.
And I knew I was screwed the moment that I saw the NIC's green lights flash upon reboot.
I did that once. Never again! There's nothing wrong with having to wipe and reload after....wiping and reloading! Er...yeah!
I now make sure ALL installs are done off line, even with my XP SP2 disk. Why take the chance?
Who cares if she faked it? Who ever really cares if a hot woman fakes it?
