[blockquote]Oh and you're not a very good repairer if you're just guessing at parts. If you can't tell the difference between a broken power supply, motherboard, or ram then you don't know what you're doing[/blockquote]
I don't know, there are funky things that can happen.
For instance, I had a machine that would randomly reboot, windows error messaging pointed to a chipset failure. So, I swapped ram, but the machine kept rebooting, so I swapped processor. This didn't fix the issue so i tried a new motherboard, the pc still kept rebooting. I decided to go ahead and pull the mobo from the chasis and run it on a cardboard box before replacing any more parts. I turned the mobo on with a screw driver. The computer never rebooted and ran flawlessly. I put it back in the case and it began rebooting again. I disconnected the power switch wire. It didn't exhibit this problem. I found out after all that work, it was a faulty power switch!
Sometimes you just can't tell by the symptoms what the problem is, and even following reasonable troubleshooting steps you sometimes just waste time.
what I find interesting is that the original origin of the symbiotic venom suit was in Secret Wars, I find it strange that it's origin was reimagined so many times after.
This is a pretty hypothetical question, so bear with me.
What would happen if an Itunes song was released accidentally by a performer's company before it was actually supposed to be released? Let's say The Jonas Brothers,(just for an example since we all know the song would be mass distributed very quickly), made a song and put it on Itunes. Well, let's say that the song was not properly licensed for whatever legal mumbo jumbo and the record company wanted to withhold the sales until this was done.
What would happen if they pulled the use of that one song from everyone's ipod?
And one other question: What would happen if there was a legal dispute over a song that was released on Itunes and the winner decided nobody had the right to have that DRM copy and needed to buy a copy from their version instead? Could they just pull the song, refund the money and make all the users redownload the file with the new DRM?
I don't agree that individuals should have to have their own domain and email servers so they can be guaranteed they can use a video game.
When I registered for Steam it was not an "important" service. It was a requirement to play a single game. A requirement that made it impossible to play the game for 2 days I might add.
Steam wasn't used for anything at the time, it was a brand new service.
I still cannot play my Half Life 2 discs because I do not have access to the email account I originally installed steam with. And yes, I emailed pics of the disks with serial numbers to valve, and no, they never contacted me.
So it doesn't matter if you can burn discs, the fact is steam in itself prevents the use of some games without access to the original steam account that was used to set up the game. This completely negates my ability to do with my disks what I want. Let's say I had sold the disks used, the buyer would have been screwed.
The fact is, my discs became a rental, and without the passcode, they are useless.
whats funny is that since Oblivion did this, I found myself bunnyhopping throughout the game just to increase my jumping speed and running everywhere to increase my run speed. I also constantly cast different spells wherever I roamed just to level those up.
it's a great theory but its affect on the user who wants to get his spells up etc, ends up actually being an annoyance.
I'm sure it's a problem with my playstyle and all, but I think I enjoyed just adjusting stats in other games better.
This is how Sony locked users into using only sony batteries on the PSP. It's also how they opened the door to hacking the PSP. Look up pandoras battery for info on how it was hacked.
I'm wondering if this will start homebrew firmwares with this check removed for these cameras . . .
I bought the game and started playing again because of AE. I heard how you could level up quickly and then go out and enjoy PVP as well as get plenty of gear etc. I even played around with the mission architect to make a chain mission about saving the sewage system below lord recluse's castle. I got up to level 40 in a week or so, then they announced that they were deleveling people and removing XP. I gave away 5 million influence in a costume party then cancelled my account.
I might disagree with a games content, but I do believe in the right for anything to be made. It is an art form and should not be censored. The old "I might disagree with what you say but will defend to the death your right to say it" applies here.
I think the market will self censor games well enough, as we saw with the fallujah game.
People may have cries of censorship from game companies, but its better than laws being applied. Once a law is made, it's open to interpretation and we will see a lot less chances being taken in the game world.
I see how you may feel this does not benefit you, but please keep in mind there are a lot of folks out there for whom this would be a worthwhile investment.
For someone like me, hfor instance, having the option to have a cheap card that can play City of Heroes, Quake live, or Unreal 3 at decent resolutions makes it worth it to me.
I'll probably buy one of these cards for my recording computer just because it will be a good investment should I have a friend come over who wants to LAN.
It's about time vid card companies stepped away from the 500 dollar cards and started offering more in the 100-150 dollar range.
I remember back when a geforce2 mx cost about 150 bucks and you could play everything under the sun on it, just at a little bit lower resolution.
I have a 3870 currently, and it's looking like this card is equivalent to that, and my 3870 cost me about 250 bucks, so this is a pretty cool development for the consumer.
they already do this in some vehicles but it's not practical in all applications.
No, no, no, no, no. This sucker's electrical. But I need a nuclear reaction to generate the 1.21 gigawatts of electricity I need.
- Dr. Emmett Brown
this was not a blue screen, it would just randomly reboot
in XP, right click My Computer - click Manage
Go to Event Viewer
Go to System
Look for the error messages left by windows.
I guess I didn't explain it very well for which I take full responsibility.

Did anyone forget the shitstain that was Spiderman 3?
We had emo Peter Parker, and a song and dance number in the middle of it!
Here's hoping Raimi goes back to his evil dead roots and makes a proper movie . . .
oh yeah and Bruce Campbell had better be in it!
I've got an idea!
let's make a new term for copying copywritten material!
We will call it STORROWING!
It's a mix of steal and borrowing, after all, we didn't really steal it, and we didn't really borrow it either.
in other news. . .
We all know that the chinese and japanese have been historically very nice to eachother!
(What's sad is I first learned of their mutual hatred for eachother through a bruce lee movie.)

oh really?

This will be a major blow to companies that use split tunneling for VPN.
I wonder what will happen if thousands of customers have to cancel their service as this 'enhanced dns' becomes a detriment to them.

Has anyone tried this out yet to see what the performance hit is?

there are plenty of other bases and stations throughout the country.
don't forget, we also have about 2 guns per person in this country, it would be very hard to disarm the country if we were invaded.
if only they allowed concealed carry on campuses, we'd have a few less rock throwers in this country. . .
. . .provided the fact he has a gun, and knows how to use it of course
if you read the article, you would know that the answer is yes, he does hold the patent on the hockeypuck mouse
damn you anonymous!!!

While true it may have nasty side effects, those living with HIV would most certainly take the chance.
