There are forums and mailinglists for simple (and more advanced) firewall setups. I fail to see why this deserves to be in slashdot.

    New technology? no
Advanced special usage of something? no
Something that needs to be review by thousands of serious (and less serius techies)? no

Can someone pleeease explain to me why this accepted!?

And for you who posted the question, search for what you can do with dhcpd, bind and your favorite firewall.

umm first off, these are not people selling copied goods to others. If I download a movie instead of not watching it in a cinema/renting it it doesn't cost anyone a penny (except me for bw).

Also, mpaa and it's friends might wanna do something about their greed and their sales might increase. I keep hearing how the big movies break new records in profit, they often turn profitable after just a month or so. If movies and music was a well regulated business prices would go waaay down (i have still to hear about another legal business where you can regain all investments in that short time span).

This isn't about poor Tom writing liblickass.so and Red Beard the Pirate stealing it from him so he has to move his family to a trailer park in Texas. This is about a fucked up market with none to compete with the big players.

To keep on ranting, there's also no proof so far that Joe Sixpack downloading material affect sales in a negative way.

I can't remember the model but it's a nasty cisco thingy, and pretty resently it had to be replaced since it transmitted the phone calls on the AM band so ppl, admitedly within a short range like 1 meter or so, could evesdrop phonecalls.

It's sad they use these devices for such an important thing like phone calls.

Apart from this flaw it works super-duper and I can really recomend others to use VoIP as it's cheaper and there's no loss in quality.

I guess there's a point when you also would think "hmm this isn't quite right and I might have to sacrifice some of my priviligies in life to do the right thing". I think when you have the choices of either killing anonymous people (who also have families btw) or spending some time in jail in a developed country is one situation where the choice should be pretty simple for everyone.

And no, I don't mean that it was a holiday in Vietnam for American soldiers by using the word simple. I mean simple as not going against the (then) current society.

What they should have done before going away to kill (no matter if it's people in uniforms or people without) is to ask themselves why.
