"Managers want to make only one major change at a time, and plan that if damage does occur, the crew would be able to stay in the International Space Station"
Astronauts: So we're safely out of the damaged ship, so how do we get back now? Ground Control: Dunno, we only make 1 large change at a time.
Wow, did anyone else read that headline and think that they were inviting people to make their political attacks on science in a cartoon?
I expected a cartoon attacking stem cell research, of maybe a mushroom cloud over hiroshima with the caption "scientific progress".
Of course, it's completely the other way, as I would hope... but yeah, title misleading!

I have the opposite experience.
Mac works great for what it does/what its intended, and I'm in the graphic design business so I even have more use for it. But in my overall experience, it is most often the Mac users I know having issues with wanting to do something a Windows box can and not being able to.
Also, most of the programmers I work with like windows because it allows for tweaking much easier... whereas mac closes off its systems so normal users cant screw it up.
The ability to automate the aggregation of all this information and display it is pretty cool, and the target for this data mining is the general population is pretty cool.
Of course things like trends will skew it so its not really what people are thinking, but rather what theier online personality wants other people to think they are thinking.... but still, very interesting!
and when porn.com/net/org/everything else is told to move to as single.xxx, what then of mindless politicians with no understanding of the interwebnet superhighway?
im a fan of the series... but have you seen these things... acting worse than.... well, the original series.
ack, I'm so torn between cool that they are doing it and having fun, but geez.. no dignity. eh, then again, how cool is it that the actors are even interested... thats cool. but its going to be so bad.
using words like "inflict" and not pointing out that "against the desire of many in congress" also means that there are people in congress in favor tells me the author of this one is pretty biased.
Our website gets 3 new accounts per month... it's doing fine.
And I know it can do 50 new accounts with a few tweaks. There's always people that sit aorund saying it's good enough because of past success, like there's no room for improvement.

Let me finish this sentence for you: "The writer only knows it's a graphics editor because he has read or heard it somewhere." - AND THEN EASILY ASSOCIATED IT WITH PHOTO EDITING because the name works.
You comepletely fail to acknowledge that Photoshop is infinitely easier to brand as a PHOTO related product than GIMP, a funny and quirky, but horrible name to brand. I'd love to have to rebrand the leather midget image... ugh. Fun for a project working name, death for marketing.
Now, you mentioned cool features for Gnome, but I think you failed to address that GNOME is a another branding problem. At least it isn't GIMP, so it has the potential to be branded easier, but it's not easy.
Sure you can shoot yourself in the foot and take the uphill road for marketing, but it would be easier to not be quirky. You can be deft at not just programming, but distribution and brading as well.
there could have been so much more reaction if they had only done it in front of...say.... the people waiting? maybe, the people who didnt know if they would get one or not.
unfortunately, they decided to do it in front of 5 people with xbox's who didnt care because they had one IN their hands.
Why would the control scheme change how the program is written? They could put spyware in bitcomet just as easily.
If you are advertising you wont use spyware, it'd be stupid to put it in.... you don't think so guys here at/. are going to tear that app apart? And if they found it... hmm, think it would make the news? Thisnk it would be a free for all on aol?
"Even though I don't think Microsoft has bought out a sporting venue to advertise, it's typical agressive Microsoft Marketing(TM)."
So I guess Staples, Qualcomm, and every other company that's ever bought sponsorship of a venue is now aggressive? I love how when MS does it, it's always evil. I'm suprised they don't own all the stadiums.

Abuses of science.... poorly worded?

Scientists also noticed the older water samples flowed uphill, both ways.
In the snow.

because we all know the are well known for having sex often.
So I take it those 5 minutes to boot weren't made up during the day with your screamingly fast computer?

I hate grandstanding.
"re-inventing the wheel just to more tightly control thier censorship stuff really fries my rice"
Not for long... you will be cut off from rice as the frying pan has become a closed system, inoperable with your cooking system.
I wouldn't say that, considering one of the uncracked codes could read:
:)
"hoax successful... I'm not really dead... several discovery channel specials prepared to skew and obscure my whereabouts... love hitler"
Anyone else read "Canadians To Douche Chinese Firewall" at first glance?
:)
Seriously, I need sleep. Moving sucks. Was good for a double take though

Obviously the energy for the ramp is coming from the forward motion of the car pushing up the ramp, slowing the car, causing it to use more fuel.
So, basically, they are making people pay in gas incrementally for passing over that section of the road. A toll ramp of sorts...
I don;t know if I'm cool with that, although the idea is very cool.
2. Spell things correctly.
:)
3. Create worth content.
Worthy? What was that about spelling?
"themselves editors when they don't have been here"
You mean "haven't" been here?
I love it when people insult people about their spelling or grammar and then screw up in the process.

wasted opportunity...
Why do i believe that Microsoft MIGHT get a better discount that whats shown on Isuppli, and just MIGHT be getting some quantity deals?...
so, does this mean there were dinosaurs?
or is this how god planned?
or perhaps, is this the devil planting stuff so we lose faith in god?
crap, ima pray to the flying sphaghetti monster for guidance.
