  2. the wire im currently using for charging... on Splashpower Boasts Wireless Power · · Score: 1

...is alot more flexible, longer, and smaller. Yes, I have to "plug it in" instead of "set it on". But my wire can be taken with me. One of them can plug into my car. both of them together are a fraction the size of this pad.

And maybe I'm not getting it, but isn't that thing plugged in?!??! If I'm not mistaken, they have only replaced the plug with a plate. When I first read the article, i was excited to think someone figured out how to charge my devices anywhere... like on a trail.

This is an example of something very cool that is impractical. I applaud them, but I will not buy their stock.

Problem though..... unless it's a hell of a small track, who's going to catch it on film? Nothing fast enough to keep up, and unless they have a grip of cameras, how would they cover a big course?

They can barely keep cameras on downhill skiing at the olympics, and nascar is only capable because its an oval. watching the long beach grand pri is like a MTV video with all the cutaways.

  12. No radio is why i dont have a ipod/nano yet on The Future of the iPod · · Score: 2, Insightful

    I run.... far.

Music, no matter how much I can fit on it, gets repetitive. I want to be able to access local radio, AM and FM. Especially things like NPR and talk radio that is new every day. Long runs go by quick when you have something engaging to listen too.

I was dicussing why they dont do radio yet, and I guess they'd rather force you to podcast it than just allow it real time.

I'm not convinced this is bad, as i think the tivo is cool too... but i have a gallery of stations and programs I listen too now, and i dont want to wait to listen to them later (IF) they podcast.

For that reason ilook at other MP3 players right now.

    For the time being, i use a am/fm radio. I'm so 1970's :)

"Why is he wasting paragraphs on trying things out that are there in black and white in the specs?"

Because often products do not live up to claims, and consumers like to know that a product acts as advertised. They like to know it is durable, as advertised. There's always how many HP the car is advertised to have, and how many it really dyno's at.

If you believe all advertising, and no advertiser ever lied or exxagerated, then you'd have a point.
