I am in the east sf bay area. lol
In particular the joystick, having a twist grip, allowed (in MW3) relative movement mapping while allowing the mouse pointer to be free to point at things anywhere on the screen..
That is the crux of the problem right there. Using the keyboard for movement has the disadvantage of not being able to move backwards, 15 degrees to the left and curve around a corner while moving slowly. You know what I'm talking about, think the Playstation era Metal Gear Solid games(especially VR missions). For a long time PC user have sucked it up and gotten used to the limitation. Using gamepads for PC was an option in some ways but loosing that amount of precision in the game is far outweighed by the gain of using a mouse. A mouse can perform movements not possible with a joystick. That is the main argument for the KB/Mouse along with the possibility for hotkeys and such. What we really want is a Mouse-type look with a stick like movement. Many have tried, few have achieved the level of dexterity that either method has to offer.
I just wish everybody here had a controller to play with before going on about the way "they think" it feels like, or the way "it looks" like it feels. Should they have tried harder to appease that active Slashdot demographic. DICE should had buttered the bread.
I cannot find where the video was originally posted in any of the articles. It would seem important to know that; given that it is on Slashdot. Otherwise, why is this posted here? How is this news for nerds?
So what happens when those who are uninsured get hurt?
Before? They get a bill that they cannot afford.
Now? They get a bill that they cannot afford, plus a fine that they cannot afford.
So you do realize we are talking about a $95 fine right. Shit, that is a little more than double my co-pay for a single visit to Kaiser on a state law enforcement health plan.
So what happens when those who are uninsured get hurt? Who pays for their medical care. Here in the bay area they go to county health. the reason why we have the affordable care act is because it gets really expensive to treated idiots who put themselves at risk. I see it everyday at the grocery store I work at. The people using large recurring amounts of public resources are the the ones who don't realize that they could or should be paying for these services themselves. Instead of taking care of themselves, they buy the shitiest food possible and have more kids when they have been on foodstamps for years. UN fortunately, it is hard to force someone to act in their own best interest.
Not really. Use a phone book to put the mouse pad on. Works like a charm. Or one of those little tv stand things for people who eat in front of the tube. they work great as a platform for a mouse pad. I used that combination for playing alterIW.net on my big screen. Oh those were the days. So many fun servers.
Indeed, all trade is ultimately built on trust .

WebCt.
$13.99, are you fucking kidding me.
Without having RTFA, this is my biggest question? Can I now go make some money "repairing" these RT tablets?
Yes. Unfortunately, yes.
Half way down in the comments.
There are only a hand full of free to play games from steam for linux. It is kinda weird.
Port Grand Theft Auto V to Linux. Just like that. I know it's not gonna happen, but man would it be awesome.
Fuck yes.

I remember those days. That was pretty nice.
Thanks. Good read. I love computer history.

Why the "boxes" never added an option for KB/mouse is beyond me. That's been an argument against them from day one.
Dreamcast worked with the mouse and keyboard. Better yet, Quake 3 online with a dreamcast and a modem. They was also Typing of the Dead.

What exactly are they smoking? Do they think that people are going to LIKE trackpads instead of something more ...useful? Like a button or a stick.
Oh mod points, I always use them on the wrong comments. Damn beer.
