There are some great sets that Lego still makes.

The Designer series is top notch and a current favorite of mine. Sure there are some custom pieces here and there but the majority are hinges and cosmetic blocks that can be used in many interesting ways. The models are great too; I've got a T-rex by my monitor at work and a (sadly discontinued) crab sitting on my system at home.

The Technic series is still going strong from the eighties. What's not to like?

The City is like the LegoLand sets of old that you probably remember. There are a few other lines that are in the same vein but those little yellow people don't interest me as much as they did when I was a child.

And the new Factory series are designed by fans. I'm strongly recommending that you check them out.

Lego is a for profit company and will continue to manufacture what sells. Licensed products like Harry Potter, Star Wars, and Dora the Explorer are making them money so they will continue to make them. They have had moderate success with their annoying Bionicle line so it is still being added to. All is not lost yet; Lego is still making some decent and interesting products, so go out and support those.

P.S. You can also get buckets of regular blocks. Think about that the next time you want to buy that Star Destroyer.

Most of the time you had to trudge back to rescue your companion who either couldn't keep up or was captured by shadows. It was like a "ball and chain" simulator.

Some actual underrated games would be Blast Corps, Rocket: Robot on Wheels, R-Type Final, and even Feeding Frenzy; great games that no one seems to have ever heard of. There are many others that the press have touched upon but dissapeared rather quickly: Jet Set Radio Future, Metal Arms: Glitch in the System, Pikmin, Rez, Guardian Heroes, Eternal Darkness, Beyond Good and Evil, etc.

Having extensively used both a MP120(2.0) and a MP2100 I can attest to this. The 2100's only advantage was speed.

The DS has a 66MHz ARM9 and a 33MHz ARM7. Logically, unless the ARM7 is needed for some specific DS tasks you could have it doing as good of HWR as the MP120 and still have the ARM9 free for whatever other task you required.

Respondents overwhelmingly cited the Final Fantasy series of role-playing games from Square Enix as the most emotionally rich games, and the death of Aeris in Final Fantasy VII was the scene many people said made them cry.

The most emotional scene in a movie (according to respondents) was when they sent the hotshot pilot with a powerbook to fly into the UFO thus defeating the aliens in Independance Day.

C'mon people, the characters in FF7 were so unlikable and Aeris' death pissed off more gamers than saddened them. Dang, I've lost my healer... that sucks.

For me, the most emotional scene an a game was during WindWaker when Link was setting sail with the pirates. I was full of tears just watching him wave goodbye to his grandmother. That was a great role-playing experience. Tetra's comment afterwards was so well timed.

SquareEnix knows presentation. They need to work a bit on making players emotionally invest (beyond Final Fantasy Fanboys) and they really need to work on gameplay (I'm pointing fingers at the damnable Kingdom Hearts and Crystal Chronicles) but they have the potential to make some great games someday.

Gah! There is nothing stopping Microsoft from releasing a version of Windows that will run on PPC Macs of today. Why is this made such a big deal with the Intel transition?

One of the reasons that I switched over to the Mac was that I was fed up with the legacy crap on the PC. I mean, It's been over 20 years; you think we could do something about that memory area between 640k and 1M. Maybe we could replace those interrupt controllers to ones that don't have to cascade off of each other.

My only hope is that what people say about the final consumer MacIntel not resembeling the dev systems is true because I certanly don't want to be funding Apple so that they can transition into a PC vendor. I'll sacrifice the nice GUI and just run Linux on an ATX PPC board.

Really, Intel has been promising an end to legacy cruft for quite some time. They now have a real chance with Apple. Let's hope they don't screw it up.
