You have to remember, you want to save as much as you can. so this is only one so many weight saving measures. I am sure they have done things so save more weight as well, and say they save 1000lb total. that more cargo you can pack into the plane, meaning more cash.
The fact that you can get down that deep dose not mean you will EVER see the shark down there. Take giant Squid for example, we can get down the deep, but besides one that was cought on camera because it was lured by bait and hooked on a line for a bit, we have never relay seen one in its natural habitat. but there are people looking for them.
All the cash being spent on lawsuits should be spent to buy Sealand and donate it to spammer's with one simple Rule, you all live there. I am sure they would jump at the chance. Then you tell the US that we have a nice target here to test your new rail gun on. See it works out great, the US is happy it got to fire off its big new guns, and we Kill off spam as who would start spamming if they realize we killed the last major spammers in a fun way. Win Win Baby.
I agree, give me a number I can call and I am on it. I seriouslay beliveve this is a MASSIVE mistake. If fair use is removed, that even affects things like photocopying parts of books for school. Um ok so I can get fined for trying to study. Fair use coveres this and the US has a similer thing. So removing fair use actualy will not help things but will just screw over people compleatelay.
1. Draw out court case as long as possible to make SCO waste more cash. 2. Crush SCO completely in court to the point even the Judge laughers at SCO. 3. Buy SCO out after they are about to declare they are bankrupt for 1$. 4. Have a big camp fire using the SCO buildings and transfer all SCO remaining staff to the "Whipping Boy" Department.
Ok first off, I believe this is completely overblown, think about it. We give you coins that can be tracked, great, well what do you do with a coin. Spend it, so it ends up in someone else's pocket and da da da. Unless you know who's pocket the coin is in, the information gathered from it is relay useless. You could not even tell that the coin changed hands. Say I I owe Bill 5$, well here is some coins and its in a new pocket. and if people are worried about the coin being used to track you, again the coin can't tell who you are, so sure your location may be tracked but the info is meaningless. The only purpose I can see for this is to track the path of cash as it gets around between visits at the bank. there is already a website in Canada that people write on some bills, which you can go to, enter the specific bill's number, and see where the bill has been. but it dose mean someone had to enter it into the system, so you end up with missing places, but its still interesting.
Metric is a very easy system to deal with and has been adopted over a large portion of the world. Technically Canada has been metric for over 20 years. Tho things like construction has remained Imperial as we are next to the US. If not for the Us Canada would be completely metric, but since the Us is right next door, we end up in the metric camp with one foot still over in the Imperial side o things. But I don't see the Us converting to metric any time soon, but the scientific community moving to metric to do its work instead of continually converting would be a great leap in the right direction.
I would love to see a aggressive take over of SCO by IBM. then any SCO staff that wish to remain employed get moved to the IBM whipping boy department.
Ok seriously I want to look through there collection of Music and see if they have anything I would like. I would love to send a message to the RIAA that people well support non DRM material.
I was told from someone I worked with, apparently it happened to him. some higher up called in saying some server they used was not working and wanted it fixed asap as it had valuable data and the likes (Probably the CEO porn collection but anyway). Ok fine, got the details and such, and went to check on it. first trying to find the passwords and all that fun stough for the box as he had never worked on the machine before. No one had a clue what machine he was talking about, or where it would be located. He ended up going server to server in the large server, reading the labels trying to figure out which one the higher up was talking about. He ended up finding the ip address and tracing it to the specific wiring off the switches, and proceeded to follow the cat5 cable. And if anyone has ever tried to follow a cat 5 line through a large server room when all the cables are bundled together, you know this is a run adventure. the cable finely went through a wall, not a big issue, must head to the next room over correct, they had cables doing that all the time. but nope figures, cable comes out no ware at all. He finely found someone who told him that they had done work in the walls in that area even walling up some old non used closets. . Doing some measurements he found the wall between he 2 rooms was rather wide, and would have had closets/storage there in the past. Sure enough after a few holes n the way he got to look in on not one but I believe 3 machines just sitting there working away. One the non working server. How they got walled in without anyone knowing, who knows, but hey decently a odd one.
you may be right, but again the size comes into play here. People have say 4 hr's battery life on a 6 lb laptop. they are not going to want to lose the battery life or have the laptop heaver. Remember people grow accustom to things, and if you can't provide they go else ware. Also note besides Sony, have you seen any other mass lithium ion battery recalls. also people besides Sony are still making Lithium Ion, meaning those companies well most likely see a increase in there profects with some competition gone. so if sony goes to a older tech, how many manufactures well follow them and in the end lower there batter life of make heaver laptops. considering the amount of competition for laptops, opting to make your laptop heaver and have lower battery life is not a good thing to do to gain customers when they can go next door and get what they want.
I actually see this as another bone head move by Sony, we say you want this, you must lessen. Same with blue Ray, Beta and da da da
Actually Apple was using Sony for its batteries and they did a battery recall a day after Dell did. Was fun as I was working at apple at the time. In the end Lithium ion batteries are every ware, form AAA to the laptops, cell phones,..... In the end if sony changed to a older tech, dose not mean they well force the rest to follow. I believe this well hurt sony more then anything as I am betting there are many other company's willing to make lithium ion. and the risk of one exploding is rather small really compared to how much they are used.
I would also like to point out in that same show, they also show a scanner voting style machine being tested and that the thing can also be hacked. they took the memory card and a guy changed the software on the card (note the company swore there was no software on the memory card). the printouts, and everything that was produced by the machine then appeared to be completely valid even if the results where rigged. Only a hand count of the oprigonal scanned ballots would have shown there was a issue. but since the data from the actual peace of hardware gave no reason to do a hand count, this method would easily have been used to scam a election. And the best part is that this study says these style machines are the best, scary an't it.
I do actuality believe that a company could make valid and secure voting machines, but I have not heard of any yet that where not foolproof. My guess is the companies that supply's them just don;t put in the work required to make a secure machine. as that HBO special showed, here is a company that said there machines are secure and there is no code on there memory card,s tho someone showed there was and used this against the machine. but say there was no code on the card, maybe then it would be different, but the company in question chose to Lie directly to people about it instead of owning up and helping make there machines better.
this is where I like being Canadian, we have a agency called elections Canada (think thats right) that takes care of the voting at federal level (not sure about provincial level tho). Its not taken by the individual province and separate laws per area, nope one set of laws, one way one agency. Any place I have voted at just uses paper ballots, no machines or anything. Just hand counts, and guess what, when was the last time in Canada you heard mass issues of rigged elections and such.
On another note. there seams to me a mass exodus of REAL IT people leaving the USA, most moving to Canada. One IT person was heard saying "Hell froze over, and I am getting out while I can".
Seriously, watch the movie, gives you a idea of a population who let there leaders gain to much control. They go to the point of banning specific books, and music. And I can even site real world examples like China now where the media is strictly controlled. Do we relay want to go that way, or well people wake up and realize this is complete BS.
The US is the other 50%.
You have to remember, you want to save as much as you can. so this is only one so many weight saving measures. I am sure they have done things so save more weight as well, and say they save 1000lb total. that more cargo you can pack into the plane, meaning more cash.
Dose this include porn. I can see it now "Google Adult" or "Google XXX"
Its funny, Before it was us Geeks being bullied. now the Geeks in school are bulling everyone else on the web.

And yet we see another version of Vista hit the market
Windows Vista DRM free
It also comes with a certificate of apology which states, "Sorry customers, we don't know what we where thinking"
also hell froze over today, experts state this means global warming is therefor cancled.
As far as I know he is not neutered, though I wish some if not all politisions where.
O you said neutral, my mistake.
I agree, give me a number I can call and I am on it. I seriouslay beliveve this is a MASSIVE mistake. If fair use is removed, that even affects things like photocopying parts of books for school. Bet ya this is a case of converting form Imperial to Metric again. Guess the military never got NASA's memo :P
Could be worse.
they could move to the
bsPhone, bsPod and the bsMac.
I told you that letting a Microsoft Programmer onto the team was a bad idea.

and just for kicks and giggles
5 . Profit

We already Killed ET's relatives on Mars Now thats not enough, now we must find ET himself as we have some science experiments to do on him
Ok seriously I want to look through there collection of Music and see if they have anything I would like. I would love to send a message to the RIAA that people well support non DRM material.
