    This has little to do with payback, there are no external gains for revenge against the US. These episodes serve only to serve as a distractiong for the horrible mismanagement of Iran's resources and infrastructure by the current Iranian government.

    The Iranian government must wave the flag and strive for nationalistic sentiment otherwise the Iranian people would start to realize that if they actually had a job to go to they wouldn't be standing around at 11am watching this all play out on their neighbor's TV set.

    1 - The US is "everything that's wrong with the world". Really? If the US dissapeared tomorrow, just what do you think would happen to the world? Honestly. Do you think the world would suddenly live in peace and harmony? Hint: The US has only been around under 300 years. Have a look at world history before that time. Let me know how great things were.

    2 - "Go f*cking away and stop crying about people why just want to live their lifes peacefully." Right, the Islamic Republic of Iran just wants to live their lives peacefully. And they do nothing bad.... like, sponsor Hezbollah or ship weapons or participate in kidnappings. Nope, if the US went away, everything would be right as rain in Iran. Right?

    3 - "You want to know why we dont like you?" Who is "we"? The entire rest of the planet? Your country? Your neighborhood? Some guy ranting on Slashdot?

    I really hope that this was not a serious answer, but a poor attempt at trolling.

    Ah yes, the "it's obvious!" argument. Where were these obvious implementations before the iPad and iPhone? Why didn't anyone try something remotely similar? Why did Android convert from a Blackberry ripoff to an iOS clone 9 months after the iPhone's release?

    The obvious implementations before iPad/iPhone have been mentioned so many times (on Slashdot and every other tech site), that I find it amusing you would even say something like this.

    Hell, even on this page you will find at least 1 reference to something that predates iPhone/iPad.

    I was an Amiga fan (zealot), and I though that was the worst kind imaginable, but Apple fans are way worse.

    Stupid you. Google for "sony tablet" or for "toshiba tablet" and you will find two nice tablet designs that are rectangular and look nothing like an iPad. If Sony and Toshiba can do it, then surely Samsung can do it.

    Then why did Apple feel like they should copy the design of tablets/phones that existed before iPhone/iPad?

    They could have invented some new design too.

    As others here noted last time this result came around, if neutrinos really travel that much faster than the speed of light, then we would have expected the neutrino burst from the 1987a supernova to arrive months, rather than hours, before the light came. Thus, I am skeptical.

    Yes, because the test conditions were the same as for supernova, so it is comparable.

    Jesus, is this what scientific community looks like these days?

    There are so many differences between OPERA test and that supernova, that it is mind boggling that someone would even dare to compare one to another (or use one to disprove another).

    Real scientists will use both to learn more, not one to disprove another.

    Oh well, instant gratification generations are taking over finally, I guess.

    This isn't just true of government and defense projects. This is true of almost all technical projects. While in grad school, I took a software project management class. The teacher stressed that out of all technical projects only 1/6th can be considered successful (on-time, on-budget, meets requirements).

    So let's not be hypocritical and attributing cost overruns simply to lobbying.

    Oh, please keep comparing your grad school hearsay with a fighter plane project.

    It's the same, your teacher knew everything about it.

    That is incorrect.

    The F-22 is a better aircraft at blowing other planes out of the sky. That is its mission, what it has been built for, and what it does. (Also, it is getting upgrades from F-35 tech developments. Fighters are always undergoing upgrades)

    The F-35 is a strike fighter. Its job is to blow up various ground targets, and it does this better than the F-22. Again, that is its mission and what it was built to do.

    It isn't worse than an F-22, it has a completely different mission - and yes, purpose built-aircraft /are/ better than other aircraft at fulfilling their purpose - that's why they get built. Not a lot of countries can afford to build pure air to air fighters. The US can.

    In other words, when you don't understand what you are talking about, talk about it like a kid would do?

    Russia and EU are in the game as well. Even if they aren't "enemies" by the standard of the earlier poster, they could sell to someone who gets into a conflict with the US. The Russians have already done this.

    Others do not "get into conflict with the US". It is US that attacks others.

    And of course Russians sell weapons to other countries. US sells weapons to other countries too (and is the largest weapon seller in the world).

    First, this story is months old and dates back to late August. Second, contrary to the headline, they're not threatening over the "AppleADay" name but the logo.

    If they are suing over THAT logo, then Apple are even bigger retards than I suspected.

    Such logo (with apple 'topic') is used on probably half of "healthy/organic food" boxes I've seen in my life.
