"- anyone know what all those buttons and knobs do?"
Well, it looks like one of the buttons on the bottom left is the CNN logo. I guess this is for the straightaways. Maybe the driver doesn't want to miss Larry King Live.
The photo shows a guy standing in front of a truck, and the logo on the truck continues through the back of the person wearing the cloak.
This image is going to remain the same size on the back of the cloak wearer. If the observer walks away from the cloak wearer, the truck image will look smaller, while the image on the cloak wearer stays the same size. No good.
Unless the image on the cloak is different to whoever is viewing it, at whatever distance they are at, then this technology is inherently flawed.
..I still don't buy the argument. My Mac doesn't have "spatial" browsing, and my windows retain the icon sort, size and atributes no matter how I browse to them.
Having the file browser open up a new window every time is a lazy way to solve this problem.
What matter even more is that tons of people are complaing about spatial browsing. What is "better" is irrelivent.
I love that "Microsoft" is a recognizable adjective that can be used in the place of "unethical" or "evil". This could be a sign of the beginning of then end for them.
Perhaps you should think before you post rather then just react. He didn't say that he thought it was styled like an ipod. If you went to the link, you'd see he was quoting the website.
It would follow that Fedora is buggy. The Fedora website states that it is "....a proving ground for new technology that may eventually make its way into Red Hat products. It is not a supported product of Red Hat, Inc."
Isn't Fedora just a showcase of new technology? People are treating it like it should be more stable than it actually is. Instead of complaining, and writing negative reviews, wouldn't contributing to Fedora, and providing constructive reviews be better for Fedora, and for the Linux community?
By the way, I have had no problems with Fedora. Sound worked without any tweaking, and it will boot to XP using grub without a hitch. I suspect I will have problems though. It's expected.
This is 2004, you should know by now not to open a file from an untrusted source.
I agree to a certain extent. This is not something that Mac users are accustomed to though. I grew up in a town where people didn't need to lock their house and car doors. If someone was robbed, I'd blame the crook, not the resident.
I have assumed that they have always had a whitelist. I have reported the same spams coming from the same address hundreds of times and they still don't get delivered to my junk folder. I just assumed they had a deal with Microsoft.
I hate it when people make this argument. Especially in sports. How much are the actors making the company? That's the issue.
Here's an exaggerated example. If I was solely responsible making FOX 100 million dollars per episode, and I got $125,000 of that, I'd be pretty pissed.
If I was a salesman who made his company $100,000,000 per year, I would be pretty pissed if I made as much money as the guy who made the company $1,000,000 per year.
The same goes for athletes. Does a certain athletes presence make the owner filthy rich? Who cares how good he is? That shouldn't be the factor. If people are coming to see him, and buying merchandise because of him, he is worth more than the other players. He is the one that is making the team money.
The Simpsons actors are just looking for a fair cut relative to how much money they make FOX.
If they took a season off, we'd then see how much less money FOX would make. THAT'S their true worth.
I assume you are talking about my nickname. Actually, it's not a hippie thing. My friends band name was Starfish. It's not too easy to get that as a username anywhere. Starphish it what I have to resort to.
I have a proposal. Perhaps the poster could indicate in the decription if the post is not an April fools joke. I'd like to read some actual news today. This could be true. I'd sure like to know though.
There's a company that does something similar with guitar amps.
http://smokeyamps.com/
They put a guitar amp in a cigarette box. I own one. It sounds pretty good.
You can find good deals by looking up misspellings. I bought a Sport Magazine Larry Birds that Larry Bird was on the cover of from his rookie year. It cost me $10.00. I imagine it would have gone for more if the seller didn't spell Larry Bird's name "Lary Bird".

How else am I suposed to chat on the IRC!?
I forcasted their doom yesterday.

<sarcasm>And "push" content will be the way of the future too.</sarcasm> Remember that buzz word?
He did his research, you didn't

This seems like the kind of thing that would keep me from using "free" wireless access, but I've a feeling I'm in the minority.
Apparently it's not the type of thing that keeps you from using the "free" Slashdot service.

I have a very inactive blogspot account. That link didn't work. I'm guessing that there is a hyperlink that redirects you to /gmail.pyra.
It's beautiful and elegant......just like CDE. The square edges, the dark grey windows, non anti-aliased fonts. Mac users will be switching in droves.
Can you imagine if telegraph manufacturers tried to limit the growth of the telephone? "It's cutting into our market!" Or 8-track tape manufacturers?
Um....that's what happens in capitalism.
If radio goes obsolete someday because it was replaced by something that people prefer, then so be it.
This is ultra lame.
My vote is for LindRoweSoft.
One might refer to Microsoft as a Vending Machine.

Can someone post an artick today that is not an April fools joke? They don't ALL have to be jokes.
If the amount of Orkut users is any indication, I'd have to agree with the study.
The ranking is....
1. Cali
2. NY
3. Mass
With such a small state being so "wired", there must be a lot of technology there.
