Apple has a SDK for Windows with javascript examples showing how to use the COM interface. The documentation on the various interfaces was pretty thorough. I have played around with it a little bit with C# and was impressed with what I could do.
I happen to like Dvorak. Loved his round table show on TechTV when he had it. Like his appearances on This Week in Tech. He's a sharp guy with strong opinions. I remember watching him talking about Office XP when it first came out. He had some valid points about it. The biggest one was "Why?" and I agreed with him.
I'm not in school anymore but is this schoolyard trading more popular today than it was in the 70's where we copied our favorite songs from vinyl to 8 track and cassette and gave them to our friends? I'm having a hard time thinking it is as big a problem as the music isn't as good. Or maybe I am just biased as a hissy 8 track full of Meatloaf and Frampton is more appealing than a perfect copy of the latest Jessica Simpson.
TSS's decline started when Kevin Rose came aboard. He might not have been the cause of it but I've always associated him with the decline. Just give me Leo, Patrick, and Meagan's download of the week with an occasional bit with Martin Sargent and I'll be happy.
I want them to digitally watermark screener copies and demo CD's and then keep track of who in their organizations have access to these copies so when they hit the internet sites weeks before general release they can go to their own people first for answers/retribution. I think that should be their first step in fighting piracy.
Yeah but he's talking about partitioning a drive to save wear and tear. It is still the same drive. Would you partition a drive into two equal partitions and mirror them for redundancy? Makes no sense.
I still pay between $12 and $15 for a new release CD. Record stores and bookstores have too big a markup so I get them at the large discount stores like Target. If I want to get ripped off really bad I'll shop at the mall. It is the same for buying clothes, shoes, and jewelry. Want to be over charged, shop at the mall. Why don't you kids get it?
How hard was it to get back on your feet after parting company with Simon and Theodore? In retrospect, was it wise to change your name from Alvin to MC Chris? Didn't that alienate alot of fans or perhaps just left them searching for their favorite chipmunk? How's Dave?
The most expensive ads are on the most watched programs. Just look at the Super Bowl. It is easier for the broadcasters to legislate how we view than to change their models. We're already starting to see that now.
The TV ratings people don't count torrents. TV programs make money through advertising. Advertising costs are based on ratings numbers. No ratings, no advertising, no TV shows.
Funny, more people torrent the thing in my area too. We lost UPN a few years back. Another network shows it but it is in a lousy time slot and it isn't in HD. I wish Comcast would OnDemand it or Showtime would pick it up. I'd probably even pay-per-view it. But the only reason I don't watch it is the time slot and my PVR is busy with a wife's show or the replays of SG-1 if I missed it the first go.
The Mac really has few, if any, known viruses or major debilitating anything, no spyware and no Trojans and no worms, and sure I've been affected by a couple email bugs over the years, but those were mostly related to my mail server and ISP. For the most part and for all intents and purposes, Macs are immune. Period.
Viruses, trojans, and spyware don't need security holes to work. All they need are careless users. Based on this guys attitude I would guess Mac users are pretty immune and probably careless.
No, EA has the two big fanchises and the exclusive NFL contracks. The big draw to sports games is playing your favorite team. EA has locked in the NFL and taken ESPN away from SEGA. I played the Sega NFL game and for the past 2 years they have shown more innovation than Madden, to the point where I don't buy EA's Madden anymore. THis year the $19.99 price tag for Sega made a good thing even better. I don't see how Sega can have success now with a generic football game. I like seeing my team, my city, my players. Sega is going to have to do alot more innovation now to get players.
Next year will be interesting to see what Sega does. It will also be dull only having one choice.
Get a pr0n buddy so if you die he comes and cleans it out before your family finds it. You die he gets yours, he dies you get his. Good way to double your pr0n collection.

to hear that Quark was still around. It is not a name I have heard in about 5 years.
This would be like gutting my iPod Photo and putting my Diamond Rio in it.
Just roll down your windows, you can already hear the crap they are playing.

The average spam messages per day is 18.5 and the average time spent per day deleting them is 2.8 minutes.
You can tell if it is spam by reading one line. It shouldn't take that long to delete spam unless you are using Ximian Evolution.

I'll wait about 10 years when Brian Hook of Id fame writes about it.
But I think I will wait 8 or 9 years for the Brian Hook analysis.
Gosh, I remember talking about this stuff around 1996. Never saw the widespread abuse that we were predicting back then.
It looks like the picture of the planet has been replaced by a screen shot of the classic Wizard of Wor arcade game radar screen.

I read Slashdot comments and wonder the same thing.
